Reinstalling would be my last possible choice. I would just stick it out for a while.

Well, clearly something is very wrong, it's been three in-game weeks now, and nothing seems to be changing. Baffled, tbh.

Three weeks sounds much longer than I recall - I would have said a couple of days.
What other mods are you using, in case any of them are clashing?

Not sure if there's a spoiler tag function on this board, so I apologise for the list being here in full:

I had installed Companion Master and CM Partners shortly before this started happening, so they'd be the obvious suspects, but as far as I know they're meant to work fine with Vilja. I've uninstalled Companion Master as I couldn't seem to get it to work properly and thought it might be causing an issue with Vilja, but I didn't go back to before I installed it, so I don't know, maybe it caused something and even though it's no longer active it's still being a problem?

That silly girl tasted one of her ingredients and it made her sick. I was able to find her a Cure Poison potion at the Gilded Carafe, but how long will it take for her to get better? So far I've waited four or five days in the same cell, then reloaded and tried waiting a similar amount of time in a different cell (felt bad leaving the poor girl alone, but decided that my character didn't *really* do that...) and she's still saying she's feeling weak. Should I just go off gallivanting for a couple of weeks, or is she supposed to feel better sooner than this? Should I try reloading to before she said she was feeling ill and try again? I'm not completely sure anymore which potion I gave her to recover, but what I do remember is that I had a heart attack at this stage. When Vilja said she was feeling ill and refused to budge an inch I ran into the Imperial City in a bee line, bought a potion (was it Cure Poison or Cure Disease, I can't recall), dashed back to Vilja, but only to hear her say that it didn't worked. Then I noticed that I had bought the wrong potion. If you like to cheat you can open up the console and type: player.additem 0000920F 1 (that's for Cure Poison) or player.additem 0000920E 1 (that's for Cure Disease) One of them should work. Good luck and bring her back to life

Good luck and bring her back to life Thanks, as far as I can tell she's had the right potion (bought a potion of Cure Poison and she said it helped, but she needs to rest) it's just she's stuck in the 'that potion helped, but I'm feeling weak, can I rest first?' stage. I've just gone back and tried it without the two mods I wasn't sure about, and she's still indefinitely ill. I feel really mean leaving her outside Maple Cottage while she's feeling sick, maybe I should grab one of the CM Partners or Fergus to keep her company... I'm going to reactivate the CMP mod as it doesn't seem to have been responsible, and see if I wait, like, a month or something, whether that will finally fix her. Pity there doesn't seem to be a 'set date' console command!

Right, after much googling, I managed to find the "SQT" console command, which lets you find out the code for your current quest. With that, I used 'getstage' to find the, er, stage of the quest, and 'setstage' to advance it one step, curing Vilja. Hooray! She's fine, although I feel a bit bad about my rather dull CMP guy who's now relegated to sitting in Maple Cottage while we go off gallivanting (and probably find Fergus at some point...) Still, it's a nice cottage, and he's got some shiny new Mithril armour, so he can't complain too much...

Glad you have found a solution. I should have thought of that as a possibility - I've seen it mentioned in other contexts for quest problems - but I've never used it myself, as far as I recall, and I'm currently (intermittently) playing Morrowind rather than Oblivion. Your two other companion mods do appear to be the prime suspects for causing problems with Vilja. I think I have used CM Partners without any apparent problems, but I don't think I have used Companion Master. It's possible that Companion Master was causing the problem, and corrupted the save game in some way, so that the problem may still exist even though the offending mod has now been removed. Let's hope that is not the case, but watch for any other unexplained problems with Vilja, and report them here to see if anybody can help. I don't think spoiler tags would be necessary for the list of mods, but they are available in the forum - just well-hidden (or undocumented). I think you use "spoiler" within square brackets, at the start, and within square brackets at the end of the item to hide - thus [ spoiler ] text [ /spoiler] (without the spaces)[/spoiler] Like this Loriel

Well, I only installed Companion Master as it seemed to be recommended for having Vilja be able to repair her own gear (as my mage isn't much of an armourer), I tested out the save before I added that mod and still had the same problem - I suppose that save *could* still have been corrupted by the addition of the mod, as it wasn't a backup copy, or anything, but it didn't complain that anything had been removed when I loaded it without CMP and CM active, so... I'm not really sure! Anyway, touch wood everything seems to be fine for now. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and stuff!

Emma's response. (From the Nexus)
Hmm, I'm not sure this was a good thing. If the story won't progress, it surely was not a good thing. I'm travelling this week and don't have the construction set or the mod on this computer, but I think you should probably revert to a previous save. Nothing is wrong, talk to her a couple of times more and she should be fine if she accepted the potion you gave her. If she doesn't get well, it is because you are either using a cure poison potion that for some reason has a formID that isn't normal (it could be a potion from another mod that has another name) or, unlikely but possible, it is because you have just installed a mod called Cheydinhal Petshop, which ruins the vanilla global Daytime variable.
The thing is that after you have given her the cure, you simply need to talk to her a couple of times with some game hours in between, and then she is fine. If you leave her for say 3 weeks ingame time, you *still* have to talk to her the same number of times before she recovers (at the time when I did this quest, I thought it would be the best way to do this; retrospectively I should have done it differently).
With your approach, setting stage, I think there is a variable that is still not right in your game and it might prevent the quest from proceeding. As I'm not home, I can not give you any addtional information to help you with console commands.

Ah, okay, I think I tried talking to her a few times but maybe I didn't, thinking she needed to be left alone? I'll try going back and re-doing it. Thanks! (If it turns out to be as simple as that, I will be face palming at myself forever!)

Yep, feeling pretty silly! I could swear I did try talking to her a few times the first time around, but maybe not enough times, or maybe too close together?
