We have got both he Lute and the flute(after the fight) Went to see Wilbur, |I visited Solstheim 2 times saw Sindra for the Lute then for the book. Back to Wilbur, at this point I seem to remember Vilja stays there with him. Somehow I visit Heneru from the bottle, and she warns me about Vilja's danger. But what happened was Wilbur had shown Vilja how to play and she came away with me. There's no sign of the rest of the story? Where have I gone wrong. Vilja also keeps disappearing, 1st time after I said she could lead at the stables, she completely disappeared.Reappearing when I was in a fight. then gone again! I had D/L the new companion Sophia at the Stables prior to this, so I have uninstalled her. Have no idea what's cauing this. no other installs at all. rhyls ps Can I re install Vilja without losing all the main quests of hers? She is with me outside our home at Highview but when we enter she disappears and all I see is her dialogue. Then back outsidee re appears again but keeps disappearing to appear behind me

If the scene for Wilbert teaching Vilja lute playing doesn't play properly, just tab out of the dialogue when you ask Wilbert to teach Vilja.
As for Vilja's random disappearances, please first try summoning her (from the shouts/abilities menu) and have a friendly fight with her.
If the problem persists, yes you can reinstall Vilja without losing too much progress of her quests: 1 - get the items you want to keep back from Vilja. 2 - have Vilja relaxed/dismissed and your character in a different place from her. Save and exit game. 3 - Deactivate Vilja and her related addons/patches from the mod list. 4 - load your game, wait 52 hours in game. Save and exit. 5 - Reactivate Vilja 6 - Find Vilja from the bannered mare and go through the first part of her quest until you can access her inventory via dialogue. Save and exit. 7 - reactivate all other Vilja-related addons/patches, if any. 8 - load game. Talk to Vilja, "traveling together..." -> "off topic - configuration and setting" -> "we have already done (some of) your quests" 9 - talk to Beata in the Bannered Mare, go through her options carefully, and you should be able to get back to where you roughly are now.

Ok Dova, We are back on track, Which should come first, take the flute to the Khajiit or visit Wilbur with his lute?

You need to do both the flute and lute quests before you can finish the bottle quest. I don't think the order matters.

Hello Wotan. I thought the flute and the fight with the Nord had to be finished first, then go see Wilbur and do the Sindra lute and book. So Vilja can stay with Wilbur until Heneru warns of the danger Vilja is in.
But how does Heneru come back into it? It's the DonkeyTail thing I think! but how I can't remember. REally lost the plot here. after so long.

I've always done the flute first, then the lute, then finish the ingredient quest. But last time I finished the ingredient quest before I finished the lute quest. I couldn't escort Heneri from the Eldergleam until the lute quest was finished. Vilja goes off to see Wilbert while you escort Heneri.

that's exactly where I am now. Just got the flute back, and now Vilja wants to go back to Eldergleam to see what's happened with the bottle. So, better to go see Wilbur first it seems! So lets see what happens then. Maybe we have to go thro' the whole kidnap scene etc. rhyls

So lets see what happens then. Maybe we have to go thro' the whole kidnap scene etc. rhyls I was at that exact point, heading off to see Wilbur and find out what happened to Vilja. The random number generator was working overtime I guess. Between Hlallu farm and coping with kidnappers I had to deal with 6 dragons. Save reload, save reload, save reload. I'm going to see dragons in my sleep... save, reload.... When I finally got my hands on the Dragonslayer sword I beefed it to the max and gave it to Vilja.

Hello Sniffles. So then if that's the way you went,Did you do all the Wilbur, kidnap scenes BEFORE going into the Heneru scene? Please let me know! We haven't been to even stgart with Wilbur yet! Got his Lute here . I broke 2 strings on it last night trying to play it DUH! rhyls

So, I've done all for Heneru, she's now full size. She sent us to Wilbur for Vilja's lessons, from there we got a lute and later a book from Sindra. Wilbur has taught her some and she has played for me but now what? At this point I thought Wilbur suggests Vilja stays for more lessons, and I leave. Somehow then, we go into the DonkeyTail scenario,don't know how. Heneru later tells me Vilja is in danger?? which is where we go into the kidnap scene. If Wilbur doesn't say about staying what happens?? I really can't remember how it plays .

Vilja will now leave to go see Wilbert - this triggers the abduction quest where you 'rescue' Vilja at the Brinehammer wreck. Reunited with Vilja you can go back to Heneri who will teach her some spells. You'll also be able to continue the donkey tail quest now, talking to Heneri.

Thank You Wotan! I'm sat here wearing a big smile. I remember now, I was so stumped about the cycle of events.
Again Thank You Next?? time your in the UK? I'll treat you to a large whatever!! Also trying a new? follower, Eyriel the spriggan girl. seems good so far, wish she had more dialogue.
Much much later. All went as Wotan told me, Now I will go and report the helgen massacre to the Jarl.

Keep a save game pre leaving the sanctuary and Vilja going off on her own. Just in case. Also, keep a save around the rescue. Just in case. Then complete the donkey tail making sure Vilja gets her spells. I had an unforeseeable screw up in those quests. I had a corrupted list item in my inventory which happened to be one of the donketail ingredients Heneri wanted. An undroppable flagged as quest item ingredient. Heneri took it but nothing further happened and things went fut. Never tote around items that the game won't let you drop but aren't attached to a quest. Not only can they fut up future quests, they have a tendency to accumulate. Ended up with 6 Grand Staff of Charming once. Nice to carry about 48 pounds of completely useless staffs.

Well Hi, I shall do as you say. I was wondering how we got to the Donkey's Tail. So, hoping I don't make a Complete Ass of myself away to see Heneru.
NOw got Vilja, Lydia and Elyeria the Elf Maiden. I think too too much women for me to handle.
They all want their hair done and various other things. And, they've bought me a pinny!!
