I'm not sure how (possibly because I've been playing another game where to sell items you double click rather than clicking once??) but I seem to have sold Constance's amulet. Is there any way to get a replacement? I have no idea where I could have sold it, as I've been to about a dozen different merchants in today's play, so I'd really rather not have to trek back to Vivec again if there's any other way of getting a new amulet!

If memory serves me well, leave Constance somewhere and continue playing for 72 hours (game time), she should return to where you first met her; go there and talk to her again and she should have another amulet to give you.
Or, you can use the console to give yourself another amulet (you will have to use the CS to open the mod and get the actual name of the amulet).

Thanks, I'll give it a go - bit scared of the CS thing, hopefully the first idea will work...

Got distracted by other games for a while, just got back into Morrowind, left Constance to her own devices for a while (at least an in-game week) and headed back to Gnisis, asked around and found she was in the Tradehouse, sadly no new amulet. I guess I'd better try to get my head around the CS (or just give up on the thing, I guess it's not essential, right? I'm also playing with Julan and he doesn't even have an amulet...)

I suspect you can't just add another copy of the amulet with the CS. If this is the case, you're going to have to check with every NPC you've sold things to. In Morrowind, it is not possible to make items that are "essential". The engine doesn't do that. So this means that you can sell or drop things that are irreplacable and that are required to complete a quest.

Consider it just another quest though it may take a few years to complete. I once gave Vilja in Oblivion a very special weapon outside of Bruma. About 6 playing hours later we got into a fight and Vilja was getting whomped. We survived and I checked her gear as she had no weapon equipped. It was gone. So we retraced our steps. Skingrad to Colovian Highlands to Anvil to Colovian Highlands to Chorrol to Imperial City to Bruma to Imperial City to Cheydinhal to Bruma through the Wilderness to Colovian Estates and finally found it in Shadeleaf Copse. No problem. If she drops it again I'm using her for target practice.

Think of it as a side quest I think the person who suggested the CS was saying to use it to find the reference thingy to add one via console? I'll keep an eye out for it in the shops, yeah. Would, of course, help if I could remember what it looked like/the in-game item name! Trouble is, I'm on my first proper playthrough and it's taking place over several months (I'm still only about level eight) with stops and starts, so I can't really remember where I've been, other than by what bits of the world map have squares on them.

So you have managed to narrow down the search to the entirety of Vvardenfell. That shouldn't take more than a year or two. Please let us know what asylum you get locked up in so we can send well wishes.

You can summon any item in Morrowind via the console, even special items, all you need is the ID of the item. The problem with scripted items is you will then have two of them in your saved game and this may cause issues, now or at some indefinite time in the future.
One way to find the amulet is to use the CS to open the Constance esp and find the name (ID) of the amulet, then use the Enchanted Editor to open a saved game and search for the amulet by that name (I think you can also open the save with the CS by renaming it from ess to esp). If you sold it or gave it to an NPC it will be listed in their inventory; if you left it somewhere - drawer, chest, barrel, or even just dropped on the ground - it will be in shown in the contents of that container or its location will be given (in the latter case you may have to note the coordinates and use the console to transport your character there).
BTW, if you found Constance in the Tradehouse you must have given her instructions other than "wait" before leaving her. Otherwise you would find her on the road north of Gnisis where you first encountered her, and she should have "reset" so when she notices you do not have her amulet she will offer it again (in this case there is still only one amulet in the game as, I believe, the original is "returned" to her).
While the amulet is not "essential" it is quite useful. You may want to do something without Constance following you (such as a fight where she may get killed), so you tell her to "wait here" while you take care of business, then use the amulet for "come to me" or have her meet you somewhere. There are also times you will get separated from her and "come to me" is much easier than backtracking to find her.

Extremely fortunately, I'd sold it to the pawnbroker in Balmora, swear I'd checked there before I originally posted, but that's ADD for you... Now have a new problem, Constance wants me to find (spoiler alert, i guess) Yanna's hideout and I've looked all over the area she said but have not found anything that seems to fit the bill...

Yanna's hideout is a small cabin in a field northwest of Caldera if I remember correctly (go out the north gate of Caldera, follow the road to the west til another road branches off to the north, explore the area to the NW of that intersection); you won't be able to enter it unless Constance has given you the quest.

Thank you - found it! Am now in Ebonheart trying to decide whether to blow a ton of cash on a certain set of items, can't seem to steal them as the guy holding them only seems to be actually carrying one...

Hi, so, I'm also playing with Julan and hoping someone can help me figure out why I'm stuck... (Will probably be some slight spoilers for the Julan mod so please don't read on if you've not played it yet!) I'm at the point where you're meant to be going to the Cavern of the Incarnate (um, this is my first time playing Morrowind past the first few levels so I would appreciate no spoilers please, and, yes, it was probably silly to play with a mod that interacts with the MQ on my first full playthrough!) and because I haven't done... something, I can't progress. At first I had a message telling me to go and speak to Shani, and I did that and she went off hunting and we staged a Daring Rescue and now she's in the healer's yurt where she seems to perpetually need a bit more rest. Headed back to the Cavern and now it says I need to speak to Julan's mother as much as possible, well, I've clicked on all her dialogue topics several times and nothing new is coming up, so I'm not really sure what to do now. I've googled it and the only suggestion I could find was 'speak to Ahsabi [possibly remembered the name wrong, the woman who I think replaced Mashti or something?] and then Rakeem, and there should be a dialogue option for one of them about a 'murderous witch', but that's not coming up. Do I maybe need to wait a bit longer and visit Shani again? I think it's been at least a week of in-game time between our last two visits, I've tried bringing Julan, leaving him outside, etc. I'm sure I'm probably missing something really obvious, I usually am (did I mention I eventually found Constance's amulet in the Balmora pawn shop? Yeah...)
(I know Julan's not one of Emma's mods, but he's hosted here, so I hope it's okay to ask!)

It's a problem that most of us who have played through the Julan mod have faced. Unfortunately Kateri isn't around very often these days (it's all her fault, as she wrote the mod), but you will find some discussion of the problem here. Another thing I found useful is the tale of Aeronwyn in the blog here - it's a very long story of Morrowind travels, which I think includes the whole Julan tale. Princess Stomper used to host a FAQ for Julan which gave some hints about these problems, but I don't think it's still around. Loriel

Thanks for the link! I've sort of skimmed it so far as I've got a headache, but it does look like there should be a dialogue option with one of the characters I mentioned that's missing. I'll try doing another circuit of the camp in case someone else has the line I need... Hope the mod's not broken, I'm really enjoying it so far...
