While having a follower randomly collect loot can provide some interesting situations, it's not altogether a good idea. Or at least you should keep a constant check of your followers inventory.
As a perfect example, when I first played Skyrim I was raiding a bandit filled keep. I had Vilja as a follower and was using her as a pack mule. Well, there was this long hallways leading to a big room filled with bandits. I decided to lead them back into the narrow hallways and deal with them one at a time. I have no idea how many times I tried that ambush. After about a half dozen reloads I made a save just before. Then over and over again. Magic traps on the floor, every weapon I had, around the corner come the bandits and WHAM, dead, reload.
After several hours of this I accidentally checked Lydia's inventory. She was shooting my character in the ass with a staff of chain lightning. Took the staff away and cleared the dungeon in 15 minutes.

In view of rhyls' experience (noted elsewhere), this is just a reminder that as a result of our test findings, we advise that this mod be not used with Vilja in its current state.
Remember also that Vilja has her own loot-gathering options, although less extensive than offered by this mod.
