This thread is started per jhampa's question from the shoutbox. (Shoutbox isn't the best place for troubleshooting or discussion, because it only keeps a short history of recent shout-outs.)
Hey, anyone had this situation. Vilja casts a spell or something (maybe a staff) that throws a green hue on everything in our area. This makes Lydia attack her every time and I can't figure out what she is doing to cause that. Any guesses?
And here are the initial replies from the shoutbox: Maybe it's an area paralysis staff? Check her inventory to be sure, I think we are looking into the rare friendly fire issues with her bard chants. It does sound rather like the paralysis chant issue. Does she hum a short tune before it happens? Have you set her to use a chant? However the fight with Lydia should stop very quickly.

As an aside, I have included in my version of Vilja the scripts that are included with bard chants in the next update. It will be completely resolved. I have had zero issues since.

Hi all, I was thinking it was a paralysis issue and so I removed her staffs that had that spell. It kept happening though. I have activated her Bard Chants but was not aware she had a paralysis chant. I will check. CollinMacleod you say there will be an update on the files of Vilja? Sounds interesting.

Version 3.1 of Vilja is in preparation at the moment. As well as adding some new features to Vilja it will also includes some bug fixes, the paralysis chant occasional friendly fire issue being one of them.
If you go to "Let's talk fighting strategy..." then "Regarding your chants" it will list which chants she has available. She can use only one at a time. The one you heve set her to use currently will show as "stop using <chant name>" as it is a toggle.
