I really don't know, to be honest. Guess only trial and error will tell
This shouldn't cause any problems at all.
Once you have finished Laura's quests (last one will take place in Ald-ruhn, and you WILL understand it's the last one) she will suggest that you find the two of you a new place to stay. After that, she will indeed recognize any house of yours as her new home (there will be a new topic where you can tell her this is the place you want the two of you to live). So, complete her quests, tell her that she should consider the Ascadian cottage her home, and she will just love it...

You could try using the command "GetResistMagicka" from the console to monitor Laura's Magick resistance. According to SFD, this should return a value for her resistance between -100 and +100 (representing % resistance).
Haven't used this to check magicka resistance myself, but it should work the same as all the other 'Get<stat>' functions:
Open the console, click on Laura so her ID shows at the top of the window, then type in the command and hit <Return>. That should give you her current magicka resistance.
Get the value before you give her the cuirass, then again after she equips it. Then check it regularly for a while as you adventure with her, to see if it's causing a reverse effect.
I don't know if anybody's ever made up a complete list of CE enchantments and their good/bad effects on companions; the one that seems to be noticed most often is the draining effect of CE Fortify Strength items.
EDIT:
If you (or anybody) is so inclined, Scripting for Dummies (SFD) lists the various 'Get<stat>' commands that are available for checking attributes, skills, resistances, etc. A complete list of which (if any!) CE enchanted items are safe for companion use would be nice, but it would take a bit of time to test all the possibilities. Personally, I just avoid giving CE items to companions and other NPCs; simpler and safer.

You know, you have most likely accidentially clicked the choice right above "kissing", i.e. "just wanted to tell you how pretty you look today". The outcome of this is random - most times, she will get very pleased, but sometimes she will claim that you're drunk, or other things.

There is a lot more to come! You will go after the teachers and you will solve the mystery with her father's research material. There is a spoiler's list enclosed in the zip-file, where you can follow where the next step of the quest will be initiated. If you have just had dinner with her, I think Balmora is next stop.

Are you sure you went to Balmora Mages' Guild? Laura should want to have a longer chat with you about "that catwoman" (she has this hangup on Ajirra, you know...).

Question:
I need help! After I arrived in Sadrith Mora, Laura has a letter and gives it to me and then dissappears to pursue the professors. I went to Caldera as said in the spiolers text, but I have no idea where to find her!
Where could she be?
Answer:
go to Laura's home outside Vivec; there's a message for you.

Emmmaaa, please help!
I have Constance and Laura long with me, kinda getting started on the Nerevarine quest line with this new character. We've been sent by the spymaster up to the Ashlander camp for the first time, and we've been sent by Sul-matuul (I think) to get the family bow from the cavern. We've juest stepped into a cave and Laura seemed not to be there, though Constance was there. I went back outside, she's not out there -- went back inside, and there she is! But she's walking quickly along largely ignoring me. I spoke to her, asked her to dance, thinking it might break her out of it, but it didn't help.
Trying to think of what will break her out of it, foolishly asked her to kiss me, and she didn't, but kept walking mindlessly ahead, and somewhere in there after asking for the kiss, I hit F5. :brickwall:
So now I'm frozen in place, unable to do anything since the 'kiss' interaction is supposed to occur, but Laura is bonkers and is just walking along.
I think if you can give me a command that will stop the kiss interaction, then perhaps I can tell Laura to teleport back, or perhaps I can just 'lose' her there and then use telepathy to ask her to come to me, or something?
Thanks for any thoughts you might have...
Marcus

Try this: Call up console, click on her so that her ID shows up at the top of the console. Type:
startcombat player
That should reset her. If she indeed attacks you (which would surprise me), open console again and type:
stopcombat

Question: Can someone please tell me where Agrippina the Clothier is? Is she in the Foreign Quarter Canton or somewhere else? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Answer: Agrippina is in the canalworks of the Foreign Quarter Plaza, next to Jeanne the Trader. (I really should add something to Laura's dialog so that she tells you where to go... her shop-o-holic tour is enough annoying without having to search all over Vivec for Agrippina's shop).

Hiyaz Emma! Been running around with Laura quite a bit lately, hoping for a quest to start somewhere. She did have a fit about Ahnassi for some reason when we went into that bar -- weird given that I have never seen Ahnassi in my character's life till then. I lose 2 points disposition every time I opened the dialogue box. Silly jealous girl. We got outta there quick.
She doesn't have the same following script that Constance has, does she? I'm pretty spoiled with Constance's excellent warping.

Hi. No, Laura's following script is slightly different. It has it good sides and its bad sides - it does allow for more combat options than Constances, it also is very kind to the fps, and she also have her lovely kissing behaviour included (can't imagine a lovely kissing behaviour on Connie ). To start her quest, make sure her disposition is fairly high (above 70) and go to Balmora. Unless you have another mod installed that could possibly overwrite the original dialog, she should start to talk to you about a 'special day'...

Yes she talked to me about a special day but I guessed it correctly and (fortunately) had a stack of gold kanet flowers for the occasion. I knew she liked them so I had already raided my big ingredients stashes thinking I'd be able to give her one now and then. But giving her 25 (I think) was about as far as it went -- she was quite happy. Fortunately she likes gems as well so I don't have to depend on just flowers.
You know it's quite funny to see how much she likes to use some magic spells -- conjur up an ancestor ghost or bonewalker or whatever she can manage. And she hits them usually one time with a spell that looks like a ball of ice -- not sure which spell that is.
I'd almost wish she would just do magic but then I'd be having to feed her magicka potions a lot, so maybe it's best for her to just do that occasionally. I gave her a nice flaming sword I bought from that weapons shop that comes with Balmora Expansion, and the attractive ebony armor from the Breton Knight shop. Hope the scripting isn't dependent on her getting the named ebony armor in her closet?

Oh no, the only scripting on the ebony armor will affect what she thinks of *you* if *you* try to use it .
Seen any evil-looking redguards yet?? If not, I suggest a visit to Vivec Foreign Quarter Plaza.

hi, Emma!
I've just started the Laura Craft mod. I can't seem to keep her disposition up over 50. I found Little Bimbo. That didn't help. Ok, I admit, at first I didn't know it was her birthday, then I tried to give her an "exqusite" amulet when she wanted an "extravagant " one!
But does her disposition go up just over time?? I haven't gotten any other quests from her.
