Absolutely fabulous. If Emma could incorporate some music like that it would turn Vilja from mod to Epic.
I visualize the first one, le Cygne, as the Emma mod alternative introduction to Skyrim with camera flyovers of the wilderness and cities. That would be utterly amazing.

Well, according to a professional linguist who listened to a few Vilja comments she's Swedish, probably from the Järfälla Municipality. That narrow it down?

Some very nice music there! Well, there’s no doubt at all that Emma is Swedish! I love her singing as Vilja and would love to hear more added. Of course her daughter also sings in the game as Sindra, and they sing some very nice duets together too. It’s also clever how Emma has meshed her voice with the songs sung by some of the vanilla NPCs so Vilja can sing duets like the Dragonborn Song with them. Emma has already adapted some traditional music for the game and I would love to see her adapt some more. For example the tune to her song “The Riften Bard Song” is based on a traditional Breton tune called “Tri-Martolod”. There’s also the “Solstheim Spring Song” which is actually part of a traditional song. However in my opinion the part used is too short and I would like to see more of it used. Vilja sings in both English and Swedish in the game. You can find some examples in the video section of the Vilja Nexus site. This is another example of a song that Vilja sings in the game, or at least she sings the first lines. This isn't as sung in the game of course: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v356cpgtGqMOf course as well as the incidental singing and humming in the game, there’s also Vilja’s bard quests to do and I think they are capable of being extended in the future. I have been a fan of traditional and folk music since I was very young, particularly British, Celtic (mainly scots gaelic) and Nordic music. Some samples (not necessarily suggestions for Vilja although I think some might be suitable, but they may also suggest some other tunes for adaption, or lead to some): [Edit - I've replaced the embeds with links as they weren't loading, despite the syntax being correct]: English www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2I6aRh9LOQwww.youtube.com/watch?v=8woUkSu7FBswww.youtube.com/watch?v=0MR7VihPm2Ewww.youtube.com/watch?v=qaCUD_1QjOAScots Gaelic : www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs_JHxfzAq8www.youtube.com/watch?v=56HxGLaiAZIwww.youtube.com/watch?v=B1iht4TAC2sfrom Norway: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dff7-Uhff8EA Swedish group I’ve enjoyed for many years, Ranarim: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7wXcJiGH-oAnd another, Triakel: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmvm5ESko_swww.youtube.com/watch?v=gAgLIZhnmbM

I feel this might be excellent dancing on the table music as well as the sort of thing that Sofia would really sing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVPTu4l6OnEthere are a lot of songs linked on this channel. Having seen fFogging Molly a few times I can swear to the amount of drunkin table dancing they create. Of course there is the Dropkick Murphy's are know to instigate much drinkin and dancing. I would argue that there is historical precident to Scotish and Irish music given the blending of Nordic/ Celtic cultues during the Viking colonization of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Since Skyrim was originally inhabited by the Snow Elves and there was a period of co-habitation with the Atmorians. It would be logical there would be a mixing of musical inluences as we see in The Gaelic counties of the Emerald Isles as the Nords developed as a unique culture.

At least someone post music. Maj vare välkommen is a nice song, even if it's satanic. Could vilja sing in emma native language ? Even if it's already in the game Tri martolod, just because it's a musical thread This one Vilja could sing, the night near the fire, under the stars when you ask her to raise camp. For the fun even if it's off topic, In The Port Of Windelheim www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dff7-Uhff8E Skyrimest song ever Sniffles: I see Nord as Nordic/german. Breton as Gallic/Celtic. Imperials as Mediteranean. But since Vilja is a traveling bard it's not incoherent if she knows song from forreign places.

Well now, Thanks very much Seyheb. I've now got about 2 hours of d/l 'Runrig'+ various other traditional music. I was having such a quiet afternoon wondering why Englands cricketers are so bad!
Thanks for the links.A ton more now for my tablet.

Imo, I think old Viking folk songs would fit for Vilja. Unfortunately, they're hard to find and even harder to find with translations. This is a good example of what I mean. You cannot get closer to the Viking language than Icelandic.

Sweden was part of the Viking homelands of course. The Swedish group Garmana perform traditional and mediaeval Swedish songs. Here are a couple of examples.
[P.S. However, I'm certain Emma knows far more about what's available from Sweden than I ever will!]
Herr Mannelig - about a female troll who wanted to marry a knight.
Styvmodern - Stepmother.

Thought I'd add my two cents if that's alright! I really love "The Riften Bard Song" and "The Blacksmith." Both of them are really beautiful and fit in really well with both Vilja's character and the game. A similar song that I thought of that I think would be awesome for Vilja to sing is "Scarborough Fair." It's an old English folk song (like the Blacksmith, I believe; Scarborough Fair possibly has Scottish roots). It has an interesting feel to it. Simon & Garfunkel did a famous version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BakWVXHSugThere's a secondary song mixed in there too, but it's still good as an example. It has a repeated line "Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme" which is a more recent addition, but I feel it kinda fits with Vilja's alchemy experience. Here's a second, more tradition version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiZJP_XLmrQ
