My guess is your character has been set to essential. This mod did make your character essential for a brief time, to ensure the hug didn't kill it. Maybe a script lag could have avoid the second part making it unnessential again ever running, or maybe it has been caused by another mod. Anyway, regardless of the cause, if the problem is caused by your character being essential, you can fix it just by typping in the console: SetEssential 7 0 I've been wondering about that. A little lag, some wonky hung scripts and a hug from Vilja makes you feel immortal!! WOW! What a woman!!

So it looks like after a new install everything works fine again. Must have been a mistake I made during updating, sorry for the fuss, my fault.
Thank You again for Your mod, Emma. It's such a beautifull piece of art, so glad You share it with us. Love the quick chat options from the new version.

I've encountered a problem with Vilja where she just suddenly vanished my game. What I mean by that is I can't find her in Whiterun or anywhere and I can't summon her. The spell is in the menu but when I equip and try use it nothing happens except the game assumes I'm using my sword with both hands now. This whole thing started in Solitude's tavern where I talked to her and she indicated she had something to tell me and told me about the horns. When she was done I selected that I wanted to look at the instructions she gave me and with that she walked off and I assumed doing so had acted as a party member dismissal. So I read the instructions and decide to complete a couple quests nearby before going back to Whiterun to get her...and she's nowhere to be found. What do I need to do to fix this?

Can you find her with the map pointer? It's obviously a major glitch and would be best if you could back up to a saved game from before this. If you can locate her with the map pointer and use the reset spell and the friendly fight, it may reset her.
But also, I'm sure Emma and Co. will want more info on this so keep a saved game of the glitch.

How do I use the map pointer to find someone?
Edit: I do have an earlier save file I could load, but the problem is that means I lose two levels and progress

It varies between NPCs and not all will have one. However, as we're talking about Vilja here, as long as you have the "Companion Vilja" quest highlighted in your quest journal, her map pointer will show, even after you have completed that quest. To turn off her marker, just unmark the quest.

Okay, tried that this morning and while the quests are there the map button isn't highlighting for anything. I tried checking that sidequest to find Vilja's amulet in that mine but she wasn't there either.

Obviously we need the Vilja authorities in on this. Best would be to PM Emma, Dova, Wolf and Amgepo.
But to do sleuthing, my surmise is she has been removed from the game. You could bring her back with PRID then moveto but I've no idea what problems are in the works or what that might cause.
I do recall Emma mentioning some issue with the Winking Skeever but can't remember what.
You can try, no guarantees, this. Open an earlier game with Vilja present. Open the console and click on Vilja. Note the first TWO NUMBERS. Now go back to your fut saved game, open the console, type PRID a space then those first two numbers followed by 0012c4. On the next line type moveto player. So your console lines will be: PRID xx0012c4 moveto player with the xx the first two numbers you got from Vilja in a previous saved game.
Then, if Vilja appears beside the PC, check everything out for her being functional. Her inventory, dialogue working and so on. Cross fingers before doing this.

It is better to continue asking your support questions here where they can be seen by all of us who offer help (including those named) and also where the answers can be seen by others who may have similar problems.
Try what Sniffles has suggested to move her to you and let us know if that succeeds.

I only suggested PMing because when they have little time to spend on the forums they just pop in and check their mail.

Well, this is our support forum and it is always likely to be read, if not by one who might be able to help then another. Also a person PM'd might be away or very busy when one of the others could answer straight away. Anyway, we're here to try to help bookwormotaku at the moment.

I'm just hoping bringing Vilja back into the world works. And trying to not think of hung script horrors.

I agree with Seyheb. PM should be for more personal matters. bookwormotaku, glad to hear the problem solved itself.

Not as far as I'm concerned. My comments above were only intended from a practical point of view. Nothing personal intended.
