Post Posted: 28 Apr 2006 05:11 am Post subject: Laura won't waterwalk
I noticed this last night for the first time. I was water walking from Khuul to the Gold Adamantium island and I heard Laura, but I couldn't see her. Next thing I knew, she was battling Slaughterfish underwater. I used Levitate and she dutifully copied me and rose from the water. Then I used water walk and waited until the Levitate ended and Laura was back swimming again. So then I accessed her spell menu (under the chat menu) and I told her to not use spells when I did, then I changed it again and told her to use spells when I did. However, she still fails to use water walk. Strange. Prior to this, I sent her away on a shopping trip to Vivec for less than 24 hrs. Anyhow, I'm sure there's a simple fix, I just have no idea how to fix it.
BTW, I am amazed at the job you've done with Laura. I popped the question to her and she expected a ring, which I did not have. So I made a special enchanted ring for her and carried it with me. I thought maybe there was a chat option to give it to her, but there wasn't, so I waited patiently. Then one night at Domehome, out of the blue, she takes the ring and accepts the proposal. The thing is, I had a bunch of rings in inventory, but she took the one I made specially for her. That's pretty darned freaky. Perhaps the fact that I had her name on the ring was why she picked it?
Also, I love how Laura interacts with Domehome and the staff. I hope there is more of that to come. It would be really cool if you could have a party at Domehome as she suggests and invite all of Balmora. Actually, Asguard might be more befitting of a grand party like that. Maybe you have something in the works? Wink

This is strange... never heard of such a problem before? You mean she uses levitate and slowfall by default, but not waterwalk? Could the problem be related to another mod you are using? i really don't know what to say, except for that leaving her behind for +72 hours is likely to help... that should reset her so that she acts normally when you meet again.

Are you sure she really took that one? You see, she is scripted to only accept the best of the game-original rings (with the ID-names for the game-original rings). If she took your ring instead, you must have kept the old ID-name.
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you are now happily engaged Very Happy.

No, I haven't something in the works for Asgard Smile.
I had promised Grumpy to do something with DomeHome, but we never discussed Asgard. However, you can simply relocate the DomeHome staff there if you'd like to.
I have been thinking of doing some kind of staff-expansion that can be used without DomeHome, but like so many of us, I have taken a little break from modding since... eh... April 1 or so, when I started to play Oblivion. Think I should complete the (alas rather boring) main quest there before I go back to modding...

Yes the mainquest is really boring but the end is.... big movie! A nice reward for all those annoying Oblivion gates...
And after that....

As for the Gold Kanet flowers, you can get them from the alchemist in Tel Mora in gross quantities. But I always find it better to carry an extra diamond or two. After all, flowers are pretty, but diamonds are a girl's best friend.

Yes (Clothiers of Vvardenfell). Here you can see us in a special gown shop in the Great Council Hall in Ebonhart.
Lastly I have discovered an outfitter shop for the Piratess - WOW!!
Maybe we can open up a new "clothing" thread where people can show their pics?
