... I've just walked out of Falanu's shop and witnessed one of the Skingrad Guards cutting down all his... colleagues? What are colleagues called in a military setting? Anyway, the other guards. There were two already dead on the road, at first I couldn't work out what was going on (I was a bit worried because Wolfgang accidentally bit someone while fighting a rat before and the guards were shooting at him, but he's gone into Colovian Traders with Vilja and seems fine now) but then I noticed one guard just shooting at his mates, who didn't fight back or anything. Edit: he's now casually wandering around looting the bodies. And yet if I cut him down, *I* will be the one who gets a bounty. I've never seen guards fighting each other (unless I directed them to). You can always invoke the console, click each combatant in turn and type stopcombat, then hit enter. I don't think guards actually loot bodies, though they always kneel and inspect them. And the dead guards will be replaced in 72 hours. Wolfgang is marked essential, plus has a very high health, so your main worry is that his accidental "attack" on someone could be counted as an assault in your records, and/or his victim could attack you. I set him to follow Vilja instead of me, so he's less likely to get belligerent when we aren't actually in combat (plus he's not underfoot as often now).

That feature of Vilja complaining about the player not wearing the armor was, thankfully, removed in the Skyrim version.

Also she keeps commenting on the fact that I should wear the armour she made me more often - I enchanted the cuirass/greaves/gauntlets (the boots were already enchanted) and am wondering if maybe the mod is checking for if I wear it (I'm mostly wearing a mithril set at the moment, but I do wear it some of the time) and not seeing it as there because it's got a new name now? (Probably clutching at straws, but you never know, this is a fiendishly smart mod...) She's never complained that I didn't wear the armor she made; but I now play as a pure mage - no armor at all - so maybe that's the difference. Perhaps merely donning that armor occasionally, even if just to walk around town then put it back in the closet, will satisfy her. (The problem, as I saw it, was that by the time you've progressed far enough into the relationship with Vilja for her to make the armor, you have already acquired better armor. Like your girlfriend giving you an economy car when you are already driving a Mercedes.) As for the romance progressing, I suspect many factors may come into play; player level, game time elapsed, quests completed, disposition, etc.; possibly even a random factor involved. You've mentioned engagement, a topic I've never encountered with Vilja. Yeah, also the Wolfcry stuff looks really really warm - the Skyrim set is perfect because, well, it's Skyrim (though I did stop wearing it in Elsweyr...) and also the stats don't matter as much because unless you're avoiding smithing, you can generally improve it quite a bit at the workbench. I'm fairly sure that it being renamed by the enchanting process has made it unrecognisable anyway, though I've taken to wearing it for wilderness exploration (got waterwalking on the greaves - "Vilja's Sea Legs" - which comes in handy), in the hopes that she might recognise it... Well, the thing is we've been engaged for about an in-game month, I think, maybe more, at first there were Things To Do (find presents for the in-laws, go and have words with Runar The Creepy) but it's been aaaaaaaaaaaages and nothing. Like I say, I've completed Heneri's spell lessons/errands quest thing, so I'm hoping maybe something will start moving again. I've got lots left to do in-game so there's plenty of time, but I'm just worried it may have stalled. Oh, there's a page 2! Yeah, Wolfgang's pretty much always following Vilja, unless I want to give him a treat or something. And, well, they can always "hire" (respawn) more guards, I don't use the console unless I have to and he wasn't attacking me, so, er, free guard uniform? Funnily enough, in Skyrim, I've dutifully worn it pretty much constantly (except when barding or soldiering or whatnot), I like the look of the Skyrim set (even with the funny hat) and as I say, I can improve the stats well enough - my character's main armour is her Legion uniform anyway, and aside from that a set of "relic hunter armour" she was given at the start of the game by the Legacy of the Dragonborn/ASLAL combined start, so I'm not really too bothered about max AR in Skyrim. She moans about the player being naked in Oblivion, too, I know this because during a certain quest where I became naked and got arrested in quick succession I decided to roll with it and discard the prison outfit on the way to finish the quest, then ran straight into an Oblivion gate and decided to deal with that, in bra and pants and using only my spells/a silver claymore I found on the way in. Vilja didn't find it nearly as funny as I did (me, the player or "me", my character.)
