Well I have been playing around with Se. Added NMM to run SE because MO most likely won't see any updates with Tannin moved to NMM. I got the new WryBash for SE installed and added to NMM's Tools. Did not have any luck getting NMM to recognize the new SSEEdit though. I followed Gophers directions but NMMSE still lists tool as TES5Edit and maybe can't recognize the new name. Did ask on Nexus and am waiting for a response. I did clean my files and ran some mods but when I ran WryBash got a fail message about the DSL, something about English. No idea and might do it again to get the error message to be more accurate. I could start with Alternative lives as owning Breezehome but I CTD every time I go out the main gate. Tried 3 times then disabled all mods, just the basics really, then ran it from start and seemed ok then. I might undo everything I added and uninstall NMM and just chill till things stabilize.
Without SkyUI the interface is just terrible. Why Bethesda didn't just add it is a total mystery, maybe just to fk cheap? Yeah thats snippy but wtf.
All in all there is no doubt that SE is the future of Skyrim modding just for stability with 64 bit but it will be a bit for the best features to be duplicated from the old. No idea on Sofia since I couldn't get to the stables

I tried Vilja loose yesterday, didn't work at all. She needs conversion. That was going to be my own priority tryout today. SSE downloaded and installed itself very quickly yesterday morning in little more than 10 minutes. However I was out of town afterwards so I've only started to look at it today. I've tried a few basic mods that don't use bsa files, SKSE or extra animations and so far they have installed and worked without hassle. I've tried installing and trying the basic UNP body, the Superior Lore-Friendly Hair HD mod (improves vanilla hair considerably), a standalone follower, an armour crafting mod, Apachii Sky Hair Wigs and the Feminine Females mod so far. The latter was useful to have installed at this stage; it's the one that gets rid of the gorilla stance that Lydia and some others have but it needs to be installed before you meet Lydia and the others to work. I've met Lydia and it is working for her at least. I'm not very keen on the colourisation, particularly when in towns, especially when seen close up. It's OTT IMO and appears to have been achieved mostly by over-saturising the colours. Vanilla characters are particularly affected and it doesn't help their 'out of the box' ugliness. However I'm sure it will be possible to tone it down in due course. Installing paler skins for my own test character and the standalone mod has helped them at least. Distant views and clouds look nice though. I agree the interface looks bad without SKSE etc.

Apart from a warning message about SKSE not found, which the guy who uploaded it said would happen, it had some limited functions, but without SKSE it wasn't much better than vanilla. I stuffed a few mods in, well, about 45, but that's a few compared to my usual 270+ in the original game, even extracted some from the BSA and repacked them as loose files to see if they would work and so far they have. I wish the LOOT team would hurry up though, I hate sorting mod orders without LOOT to do the basic sorting first then I just fine tune it and edit the metadata of a few if LOOT gets them in the wrong order.

I'm going to qualify what I said about the colourisation just a little now that I've played for a while out in the countryside. Here although things are still very over-saturated, at least it is a change from the drearyness of vanilla Skyrim (athough my Skyrim scenery is no longer vanilla ). I've just successfully tried installing and playing M'rissi. I only needed to unpack the .bsa file and install the files as loose. I took her as far as retrieving her satchel without meeting any issues. Of course M'rissi v2 is due soon and that may be different unless the author ensures that there is a compatible version.

Wow Nexus servers are down lol, think there is any interest in SE? I did realize a horrible fact about using NMM. If you change/remove a mod it is not virtual as with MO. To be safe I checked integrity of the game with Steam and then re-clean with SSEEdit. I heard a rumor that installing a new MO in SE might work but that's not verified to my knowledge.

Ok.. I'm just going to monitor Se news for a while and just enjoy Vilja's company in classic till them.

found this good news over at LoversLab "ousnius, on 29 Oct 2016 - 10:11 AM, said: You can already install UNP/UNPB and outfits into the new game and it'll work just fine. This is just for new and coming bodies or new outfits being created. They need to be without BBP/TBBP/HDT though, or they'll crash the game until XPMSE is released." "The version of XPMSE inside the installation folder "07 XPMSE3" works with SSE." Here is the link for the forum page www.loverslab.com/topic/68722-cbbe-uunp-bodyslide-and-outfit-studio/

Well I must admit I'm enjoy the hell out of SE. The response by the modding community has been incredible with really to much new information and releases coming to follow. The responce by gamers has forced Nexus to shut down the auto servers due to highest demand ever and thats just UK today! Manual downloads are still available which is really kewl on their part. Three updates in 2 days to NMM to fix bugs, this is the most awesome game community out there. So SSEEdit is working in NMM tools bar now. And wow whiners get politely crushed on almost all forums, too much fun.

screenshot of vilja with skyrim version number sseVilja is working for myself with SSE with cavots. I extracted the bsa's with bsaopt and repackaged it into a zip file with NO bsa present. and vilja is working so far will report any bugs. I then installed it with NMM. the one issue i had was t-bone pose which i deleted the 0_master.hkx for 3rd and first person and all is good.

Yup, hkx files from old Skyrim do NOT work in Skyrim SE, you can still install custom skeletons but only the nifs, the old hkx file format is incompatible with SSE, Groovtama was having a bit of a grumble over at LL about how much work would be involved in making the xpmse skeleton work properly. Having said that, if you have a nice custom body and armour setup in old Skyrim that happens to be HDT, you can just copy/paste the meshes and textures over to SSE, provided you delete the .hkx files it'll be ok, you just won't have any of the HDT effects.

I'm installing unp body atm to try out. author has it listed now on nexus SSE. not sure on trying a new skeleton as i'm currently using NMM since MO isn't ready yet so testing some things are trickier.

New on consoles and ports.
From what I have been reading, the PS4 don’t allow mods with custom assets including voices, scripts, and textures. There is also a 1 GB mod file limit.
I got this from one of the dev. team for Inigo so hopefully it is accurate.
