Hmmm. C'mon, Sniffles, give us an update! Did your restart pan out?

Well, update. Tried SE. Actually got it running. Crashed a couple of times. Seems our computer is marginal at best for the benefits SE offers. Started the old version of Skyrim to compare. Seems SE did a phone home and STEAM disabled my old version. Started old version from another hard drive. SE vs old version that is perfectly stable. Old version has about 80 mods we have selectively added over about 3 years with lots of tweaks. That's all gone and much not replaceable in the SE. Then somewhere during the week we spent trying to get things working we realized our extensive library of saved games was all unusable. Vilja restart at about 10 different levels of progression, 4 or 5 adding M'rissi and her bug fixes, TheGreatAmgepoBugFix - those 2-3 weeks of crashing where Amgepo talked us through getting OldRim running like a Swiss watch, various trips down memory lane for replays of certain events or fast forwards avoiding other events... about 120 saved games all useless. Then a discovery. We bought a very fast SSD, installed a stripped down version of the C: drive and the D: games folders. (Many thanks to my comp techy's bored midnight watch, blowing the STEAMship/t to hell, recovering the OldRim etc). OldRim boot: 7 seconds. Loading cells, <4 seconds. Stable as a rock. Shall we do the same with SE? LG monitor being on the low end crappy, LG=Lousy Graphics or Lots of Gold, it was unable to show most of the wonderful new graphics with any significant improvement. Naw. Too many fond memories, mods, tweaks and all those saved games. Fast forward. Saved game load bypassing Gelled-hen and straight to meeting up with the golden haired damsel in distress, picking up a drunken floozy along the way. I foresee a kitten in our near future. Then maybe Falskarr. Pour some stale ale into Soppy then everyone get behind her. When she nods her head, we hit it. Yes dear, bottle. We're working on it. Relax. (Pssst... the second her back is turned, empty that thing into the river... or have Soppy pee in it))
Need Emma to add a few hundred what-if dialogue lines and moddi-fie the quests a little bit. Just imagine Vilja's quest where you haven't the heart to tell her somebody drank her relative in a drunken stupor one night. "I have my limts and taking a series of urine samples with the hopes of recovering Hentai from the sop is quite a ways over the line."

Hail and Salutations! I also thought about giving Skyrim SSE a whirl and decided on starting with the Bruma mod - I am really enjoying it and the undeniable perks of playing the SSE add a nice change of pace, too. In short, I can really recommend doing both! Seeker
