Okay folks, brand new person here. Though Ive been modding various Elder Scrolls games for some time now, Ive never really discussed modding that much. And certainly not for Morrowind, but since this looks like a fairly active community for Morrowind modding, I figured Ide take my problem to you.

Whenever I create a mod for Morrowind...
It doesn't matter what it is or what it does, I ALWAYS end up having a bug where an "s" and sometimes other things appears before the word in menus. And during char creation Ill get things like "SAttributeStrength" and the like instead of just "Strength"
Ive read that this has to do with unclean GMST entries. I tried cleaning my mod with TESPCD, as it was recommended, and when I did, it brought up a bunch of unclean entries that looked to be exactly what I was looking for. "sOK" "sAttributeStrenth" etc. And I cleaned and deleted them. Loaded the mod back up. Still have the problems. Disable the mod and run the game, everything is fine.

It happens whenever I MAKE something. For testing purposes one day, I took a mod that didn't have that problem, and added something to it. Soon as I did, I got the same problem. BUT, if I took the same mod and DELETED something from it, I didn't get the problem.

In short...
Can anybody here help me understand this problem? And how to fix it?

Welcome. I'm more an Oblivion guy, but there are indeed some Morrowind users here. You might also try posting the same question over at LoversLab and see if that community has any answers.

Found this in my notes, don't know who to credit, but sounds pertinent to your problem -

Every time I edit the Gameplay > Settings > fEncumbrancestrmult . Every statistics in game gets the letter "s" in front of it?

SOLUTION: You need to make sure Morrowind.esm is loaded (to the Data Files selection window, when opening the Construction Set, make sure Morrowind.esm is checked (cross in front of it)).
Then edit any Gameplay settings you want.

Hah. I actually spend a lot of time over on LoversLab, but didn't know if that was something I should mention here. XP I may see what they think, though most people there are all about Fallout 4 and Skyrim, so I figured Ide try a more Morrowind focused place first.

And thanks! Ill definitely give that a try, though right now what I'm actually doing is modding one of SureAI's Morrowind TCs, Myar Aranath. They are the same people who made Nehrim and Enderal. Not many people know they also made 2 Morrowind TCs in the same vein/universe as those 2 mods. They have their own ESMs and don't use Morrowind.esm at all. But Ill see what I can do with it.

Btw, if anybody here doesn't know anything about Myar Aranath, Arktwend, Nehrim, or Enderal...
Check em out. They're all great. Very impressive. And you can find at least partial english translations for the first 2.
