She doesn't seem to be in the game anymore. Searched for her all over the place. Amulet doesn't call her. I'll chew broken glass before I reinstall her and start that mind numbing quest again.

I used Constance for years, with different characters and numerous other mods, and never had her completely disappear; I could always contact her and she would respond, though as I've said she would sometimes acknowledge a summons but not appear, or, even more inexplicably, tell me she was in combat and couldn't leave. If I just continued playing she would eventually reappear.
So I'm thinking perhaps some other mod you are using is interfering with Constance, a simple load order change might cure this, if you could isolate the conflicting mod. Wrye Mash can analyze your load list and point out possible conflicts; it is not infallible and occasionally lists "conflicts" that require no attention, but it's a start.
I did have a companion disappear; I've forgotten which one, a female you meet in the basement of Balmora Fighters' Guild, no quests, little personal dialog, just a good fighter and pack mule. No problems til I was about lvl 30, we were in a bandit cave we'd just cleared out and were loaded with loot, I saved and exited the cave ..she was not with me, went back in the cave, she wasn't there, went back out and summoned her, she responded but never appeared. Reloaded and got same results, she was by my side in the cave but disappeared when we exited. I loaded the previous save, just before we entered that cave, and all seemed well ...for a while. Eventually I noted there seemed to be a time span involved - we could go anywhere and do anything (save and reload, go through portal doors, fast travel, etc.) for about the same amount of time we'd been in that cave and all was well, after that time a save/reload or portal door would cause her to disappear; we could play for hours without a save/reload or portal and she would stay with me. There's an old thread here about this, also at Canadian Ice' site, and at Bethesda's site; consensus was some other mod or quest was interfering with the companion, but I never found it. Finally abandoned that game and started anew, with Constance again. Though I wonder if her occasional temporary disappearances are connected (they always occur when we go through an interior portal door); perhaps she is more resistant to the conflict and manages to reappear.
Or perhaps I need a complete clean reinstall of Morrowind and my "essential" mods; my current Morrowind dates to my last XP computer, ca. 2007, I install default Morrowind GOTY on each new computer then copy everything from the previous system over the new install.

I ran or screwed up Wrye, got load errors I ignored, then went to Gnisis and asked. She turned up at the trade house. I have no idea how to run Wrye Mash.

Wrye Mash is not very intuitive but once you learn its major functions it's relatively easy to use (and unlike Bash for Oblivion, Mash has never screwed up my game). This tutorial may help - wiki.theassimilationlab.com/mmw/Wrye_MashMany people prefer The Enchanted Editor, it does have many more options but I found it an absolute kludge to use (I was never certain it was doing what I wanted it to do, it can easily ruin a mod or save, and what docs exist seem written for people who already know how to use it). BTW, the final straw with that other companion was when I returned to Balmora and found her in the Fighters' Guild ... as she was when we first met ... so now I had two companions standing there side by side, one with her original cheap gear and the one who had been accompanying me. Too weird, starting over seemed the best solution.

Now I have this which I didn't have before running Wrye. Some hints, PLEASE! One of the files that "Clean_bloodmoonpatch_05.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save. This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message but not necessarily fix any errors. One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information. Texture "Textures\TX_ Wolf_Red.dds" count 3. Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3. Texture "Textures\Tx_BM_grass_02.dds" count 3. Texture "Textures\menu_thick_border_bottom_right_corner.dds" count 2.
But everything seems to be working okay. No crashes except on exit. Constance is doing quite good. Looks killer in glass armor. Need to find her a cuirass, but the bare boobs and fancy glass is very impressive. Onward through the snow. Cave of stupid farting is next.

Those are some of the "conflicts" you can safely ignore; for various reasons Mash will trigger on things like this and consistently throw the error message. If curious you can check these textures in the CS, note where they are used, and look at the object in game; 99% of the time you will see nothing amiss. (A common cause of this is someone inadvertently including a default texture in a mod download, Mash detects the same file in two different folders so alerts you to a possible conflict.) FWIW, Mash has for years thrown an error about a banner texture in my game, it's a common default texture used numerous places throughout the game, and I've never seen anything strange so decided to live with the message rather than waste time trying to find why Mash doesn't like it.
"...could not find the correct versions of the master files..." This usually means you have a mod created on an older version of Morrowind than you are running. If the mod works there is no problem; one of Mash' functions will update the mod and eliminate this "error".
BTW, you might like the Sexy Glass Armor mod, basically a midriff top and bikini bottom, Constance will turn a few heads when wearing it (especially if you also use the Better Bodies mod). If you like giving Constance different attire at times, the Dream Armor mod is nice - light armor, second only to glass in strength, that is invisible, so you can see Constance in whatever clothing you like, or nude if you prefer, yet she will still have armor.

THANKS! Since the program, and Constance, appears to be running fine, I can live with the errors. PROBLEM. Some of the glass armor looks really good on Constance so I don't want to replace it. Only the Cuirass goes the yuck route with the original. I'd like to mix and match. Is that possible?

Mix and match to your hearts content; just like Oblivion each piece of clothing and armor has a unique ID, in mods also, so there's no conflict. Just remember companions will wear the most expensive clothing/armor in their inventory so watch what loot you give her to carry, or she will mix and match from her inventory. If you like using the CS, create a special set of clothing and armor for her, giving each piece a ridiculous price; give her that gear and she will always wear it no matter what loot you give her.
There is also a nice mod of Colored Glass Armor which has options of blue, red, yellow, black, possibly some others (it's been a few years since i fired up Morrowind). I believe this was from the same person who did the Sexy Glass Armor, so with both installed you get the optional colors for each (sexy edits the mesh, colored edits the textures).

So what does it mean when a mod says 'armor replacer'? I thought that altered the vanilla stuff.

An armor replacer will replace default armor with the mod armor, whether just one set or all armor depends on the mod. This may mean the default is no longer available or that new versions are added alongside the default, depends on the mod. You can always install the mod, load your save, and inspect what has been added; if you do not like it, exit without saving and disable the mod. No damage done.
In some cases if a mod merely adds items and you do not want all of them it is fairly simple to go to the mod folders and remove the items you don't like, keeping the ones you like; otherwise you can edit the mod in CS to remove what you do not like.
For the most part all this works the same in Morrowind as in Oblivion, so if you've edited/tweaked the latter you should have no problems, in fact Morrowind is probably easier.
