I really got down to playing Skyrim in earnest those last weeks, not least because of Vilja. I was just about to ask if there is anything like Aleswell Cottage from Oblivion for Skyrim. Seems like I do not have to search any longer. "Absolutely", as someone we all know would say. A really nice small house with a lot of "extras" too. I posted some comments and some pics on its Nexus site earlier today; and of course, endorsed it. (P.S. I was a bit puzzled for a minute why the Nexus wouldn't let me endorse it, then I remembered I'd downloaded it from Emma's site! Downloading the file again from the Nexus soon sorted it)

The cloth bolt stand thing in tha basement by the stairs needs the original texture saves as dxt1 no alpha. Someone saved as DXT1 with alpha and the alpha removes any texture and replaces with black at that setting. Thats why it has black spots.

I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this in regards to Highveiw Cottage. It seems often, in certain places Vilja has major collision problems and can't seem to navigate well around the house. this especially happens outside around the forge and upon entering the porch (the wooden walkway leading to the front door. Vilja can't seem to get to the porch as she usualy runs into the railing or the forge. She also didn't seem to wander around the place as well as she does in my hearthfire home.
We're currently residing in Winstead Manor and it is amazing . Vilja will wander EVERYWHERE in the house and interact with any objects, furniture, shelves, cooking pots, kiln, anvil ,workbenches etc.etc. I was always incredibly impressed by how well Vilja seems to wander in these player made homes. She doesn't seem to perform nearly as well in the cottage. She will rarely go upstairs at all and almost never interacts with anything other than the alchemy/enchanting stations and or the bed. I've never seen her use the loo the cooking pot or even the main table upstairs (as she very rarely will go there unless I lead her "manually"). Not just that, but she also doesn't see to move to about 75% of the floor space (meaning she wanders around in a very select few areas).
Anyways was jjust curious if anyone experienced similar problems?
As always thnx in advance

This is why I hate housemodding in Skyrim. I just couldn't get the outdoors navmeshing to work properly and at some areas I had to give up on it. There are surely other modders that are a lot better than me at this. I would love to have a look at how this Winstead Manor is set up, but I couldn't find it on Nexus. Is it a Steam-mod? Is there any other housemod in particular that I could have a look at? I'm particularly interested in looking at how I could make *Vilja* work better in any house and then it might be a good start to look at well-made housemods for this purpose.

Rollerpig, did you mean the (Hearthfire) Windstad Manor?
P.S. there are several addon mods for this house on the Nexus. I don't have it myself so I don't know how well it works.

Yes I was referring to Winstad Manor home from Hearthfire. I've taken Vilja to every single Hearthfire home and she performs absolutely perfectly in all of them no matter how you choose to build them. She also does extremely well in the mod BlueCreek estate which I simply got from the Nexus. The only problem in that mod was using the separate levels of the house. She would either stay upstairs in main bedroom dining room/bar or downstairs and sleep in the single bed for the house carl. This also happens in Haerthfire homes except that Vilja will sometimes Randomly go to sleep in one of the upstairs beds and upon awaking will wander around upstaits till around breakfast time at which point she will often come down to the main dining table.
This can be annoying at times as we are married and I don't know why my wife would prefer to sleep alone in one of the unoccupied single beds used for the hoursecarl or servants =((she definitely seems to prefer single beds over doubles and rarely if ever*unless by chance she happens to have wandered VERY close* uses the mastebedroom double.
She also will not sleep in double beds in Inn's...so I'm sleeping in the bed and Vilja is on the floor with her bedroll(offtopic but something that always bothered me about Inn's).
