Currently, if you are starting a brand-new game, you should get the update to 3.01 from Nexus. I'll try to get it online on my site as well first thing tomorrow morning.

Yeay! Another chance to royally screw up the romance once again! (Emma, you could add a few tidbits like when escorting daddy-in-law he asks why we are visiting Markarth: 'My dear... you appear to be hopelessly lost'). Thanks Emma and everyone else who put so much effort into this!

Version 3.02 (full) is now up. A brawling script was previously missing, and it seems that the lack of it has caused Vilja to stop following in some people's game.
Have also done some "cosmetic" correction; cleared up some dialog entries that wasn't so well filtered (like she called a male PC "she" in two battle cries), the sturdiness/vulnerability settings will not display correctly ingame.

I had some minor issues after updating from 3.0 to 3.02 Leifur and Lydia disappeared. I found out that the poch had been set to home at the Bannered Mare for some reason - I'll change that when I pick up the game again. Lydia returned home to Heljarchen Hall, but had lost all the gear I had given her (I think she's got a crush on my housecarl ) I also had to use the console to reset my follower count to 0. I like that you now can introduce Vilja to the Hearthfire housecarls and to some popular followers. Of course she quickly got moody over Cerwiden being a better healer than she. (I think she was just looking for an excuse to be hugged )

Leifur's default home is the Mare after you pick him up if you haven't set a new home for Vilja, so that's fairly typical. Not sure what's going on with Lydia, nothing changed in that respect between 3.0 and 3.02, unless you did a clean install for 3.02 and she was following Vilja.

First of all, epic mod! Vilja is an epic companion! She adds so much flavor to the game, I can't imagine a playthrough without her now. There is only one thing I wish would have been a little different. After I come back to Riften with the cat's flute which would allow me to buy Vilja's flute, I discover that he doesn't have it because he was threatened. At this point I thought to myself "And I didn't have the option to do the same? And I am the Dragonborn? Lame!" Then, when Vilja confronts Halvdan after he steals her flute for the second time I thought "Ok, I have had enough of this asshole pestering my Vilja!" So I shot him, in the face, with my bow, which 1 shot him due to a critical sneak attack. But he didn't die because he is essential?! Lame! You see, I am playing a sneaky mage who sneak attacks people with bound arrows and summons succubi and hordes of undead when things are to hectic for sneak attacking. And I mercelessly slughter anyone who pisses me off. Bandits, Foresworn, and Imperials all get arrows in their faces on sight. So, it is frustrating that I cannot do the same to this prick. I had to settle for pickpocketing the flute off of him which caused him to despawn when I gave it to Vilja, so I guess that kinda worked. There was no way I was going to give him the pleasure of meeting him on his terms at midnight like he wanted me to. Screw that. I know you have a certain story you want to tell for her, and I respect that. However, when I am doing a quest that requires a lot of "go here and fetch that and do some more menial stuff," and then I think I am done only to find out that someone made my life more difficult by using force(threatening, killing, ect...), and I am not allowed to make the choice to respond with more, overwhelming, Dragonborn, force, and instead am required to do more menial crap to fix it, it is incredibly frustrating and annoying. Halvdan should be killable. I don't know if he becomes killable later when you meet him at midnight, because I didn't want to go through that. And actually, it wouldn't be hard to tweak the rescue quest if we chose to kill him. The note could simply say that the kidnappers were getting revenge or something. So, like I said, great mod, and Halvdan is one of those characters I love to hate, and I want to kill him oh so badly!

You will get the chance eventually, he isn't invincible.

You will get the chance eventually, he isn't invincible. Continue down the romance plot and you'll get your chance. Halvdan will be back with one of his buddies for one final bout.

Love Vilja!!
One question though, received the quest to retrieve Vilja's bow
Unfortunately I ran the console command to show all the places in Skyrim, and her quest does not show up in the list
Could you tell me where to go to complete the task?
Cheers
Bruce

Are you using any DLC's? Or other world spaces? The location is random and if for example the location is in Solthsteim, it won't have a map marker until you are there.
The version that is being worked on right now won't do that anymore.

Cheers Bruce The tmm 1 command should have no negative effect on Vilja's quests. Collin is right that the quest can also take you in modded terrain because the location is picked randomly by the game. Are you sure that you activated the "Miscellaneous" quest section and you checked the quest also in the submenu? It is no main quest. I already missed to activate both. The quest marker then will show you where the destination is and it will be at the teleport points if it is in a location outsided Skyrim.
