That's good news. Things should start happening before too long. Enjoy the romance and the wedding. Thanks for confirming where you found Wilbert.

gkw62, I am not aware that Wilbert is ever be found at the Temple of Divines. This is strange. He should be at the Dawnstar Inn until you finished with Vilja's main quest. Then he got a position at the Bards College in Solitude, at which he should be found in the main lobby.

My character Jim, has found him there several times to deliver Bard Chants or lost musical instruments and to get Performing assignments. About a week ago in real time Jim went to Solitude to deliver a book of Bard Chants, Wilbert was walking up the street, and said he would only talk about Tasks for the College or Assignments while inside the college. Wilbert has been at the Temple since then. If he's still there next time I'll try a placeatme command.

Thanks for the additional information. It will help with looking into this.
P.S. Don't use a placeatme command on him. That will only make a copy of him and the copy may be missing some or all of his dialogue. To move a npc to your location you need to first of all get its ID reference. Open the console and select him with your mouse. Write the displayed number down. Once you have that, go to the location where you want him, open the console and type prid (number) - without the brackets. Then type moveto player. However I can't guarantee that will keep him at the college.
Am I correct in assuming that despite him being located at the temple, he is still issuing the bard quests?

Hey Seyheb, When I said I would use a placeatme command it simply reflected my ignorance of console commands, which I'm aware of. I looked up what command to use, and the one that moves the npc worked fine. While at the Temple, Wilbert was not issuing bard quests, or Tasks for the College quests. Since being moved back to the College, he is issuing both types of quest. I've now done retrieve the broken drum, (from Dead Man's Drink)and one bard chant book after that. Do the Tasks come one after the other in the same order, in different games?
Vilja and Jim have each been declaring that the other is 'more important than anyone in Skyrim' from well before I started this thread. Jim has been taking her 'Dining out' every evening. While drunk Vilja ("I think I'm slightly typsy") said she want's she and Jim to be together "...forever." Jim of course said he feels the same way. I guess it's all good.

Excellent news on both counts, gkw62, and thanks for letting us know the details and the fact that what you did worked. The bard tasks do follow each other in the same order, but they are radiant quests so the locations will vary each time. P.S. We are still looking into why Wilbert was in the Temple of Divines. We suspect one possibility being another mod causing NPCs to move. Did you add a new mod to your Skyrim around the time this happened or not long before you found Wilbert wasn't at the College anymore? Also, would you mind posting your mod list? Thanks.

Hi Seyheb,
I've found the mod list in Skyrim/Data, but haven't worked out how to post it. I guess there's some simple thing that I don't know yet.
That game is broken with all interiors full of transparent patches. I've deleted and reinstalled Skyrim, the mod list has changed, (removed RealVision ENB and some others), and started a new game.
There probably were some mods installed just before Wilbert went to the temple. But I've got no idea which ones, or if they are still in use.

Hi gkw62, I am not sure which mod list you have found. However, the one the Skyrim sees is %userprofile%\appdata\local\Skyrim\plugins.txt (just copy and paste that into the folder directory address, or into Run from Windows. A text file should pops up listing all your current mods in use (this doesn't include any mods that only contains texture/meshes without esp).

Hi gkw62, posting it might still give us some clues, thanks.
Another question, did you have any mod such as one of the Alternative Start ones? I'm not pointing any fingers, just trying to think of any mod that might potentially move NPCs. Thanks.

Skyrim plugins.txt (1.43 KB)
Hey guys, attached is the current mod list. It's changed since Wilbert was at the Temple.
I've deactivated; RealVisionENB, Vilja and some others. I don't remember any other names. I did have a random start mod but it disappeared before the Wilbert problem.

I don't detect any mods that could cause NPCs to go to the Temple of Divines, except maybe the Fight Against Thalmor series, I haven't play through those myself, and don't know if they have anything to do with Solitude, but I think that's unlikely.
Just curious, was there any reason that made you deactivate Vilja?

Thanks for your help in posting your list, gkw62. So far, I haven't identified any that make me think they could affect NPCs in Solitude either, though I'm not familiar with all of them. I might take a closer look at the Thalmor series in particular in due course.
Please let us know if you remember the names of any of the others you deactivated. Interesting though, that you did have a random start mod even though it went before the problem began.
I'm also curious why you deactivated Vilja as you said things were going well between her and Jim.

Hi Seyheb,
You asked why I deactivated Vilja. Well Vilja seems tedious, in that she needs to be talked to SO much. She just slows the game down.

Hi gkw62, I’m sorry you found Vilja needed to be talked to too much for you. However you can reduce her conversations to a minimum ("Let's talk for a little while" > "I wish you weren't talking all the time...") to the point you are getting very little more than her quests dialogue. She is very configurable and there's a lot of choice as to how you play her. Whether you find a mod is to your liking is a matter of personal choice of course and no mod will suit everyone. Thank you for letting us know your reason for deactivating Vilja and also for being willing to try to help us identify why Wilbert was moved. Perhaps you will take another look at her someday. In the meantime, best of luck to you.
