You might want to check this out too: elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Lover%27s_ComfortWhat you want to avoid at all costs is getting the experience mechanics screwed up. I understand that is a huge pile of goo where you can even no longer get the points. What exactly do you mean by "getting the experience mechanics screwed up"?
Actually now I'm almost sure that it has to do with "Realistic needs and diseases" mod. Apparently it has a side effect, replacing Lover's comfort with the default Well Rested buff. Only some of the users have experienced it, others haven't and I wasn't able to find a solution.
Well, if it is the case, then at least I would know that the problem is not with Vilja and her marriage quest. So if I don't find the solution, it won't be a great deal... I was also thinking that maybe in next versions of Vilja it would make sense to make "Lover's comfort" appear not after just sleeping in one bed with Vilja but actually after the "How about having an early night tonight" sequence of events, so to say If it's technically possible of course. So if Emma or anyone from the team reads this thread, please consider this idea for the future!

Alternatively, the 'Early night tonight' could produce the anti well rested syndrome where the protagonists would barely able to hunt bunny rabbits, and even onto the negative scale taking Vilja's drinking habits into account, the 'why are we sleeping on the floor and where did this shovel come from' syndrome which sometimes results in the 'donning the wrong armor backwards and equipping a soup ladle for a weapon but fortunately neither of you can find the door' syndrome.

I can't remember which version, but I am quite certain that this is already implemented, as well as proper time lapse (3 hours?) for the early night.

I understand that is a huge pile of goo where you can even no longer get the points. What exactly do you mean by "getting the experience mechanics screwed up"?
How the game computes experience is likely the most complex part of the game engine's job. There are numerous formulas and modifiers for those formulas, and modifiers for the modifiers like the various standing stones, the various rested bonuses and some artifacts. Some stack, others do not, and various circumstances often apply to enhance or restrict receiving experience. See www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Leveling
So if a mod as example effects a modifier like the Lovers Comfort it could set a parameter beyond bounds for the relevant formula to work with. It appears the developers have gone to great lengths to 'trap' these erroneous calculations and keep extraordinary bonuses from being given, often resulting in no experience being given at all.
Also, be aware that some of the calculations in these formulas don't work universally. That is, some work better for low levels, some at all levels, some at higher levels and so on. So tossing a mod into the works may appear to work correctly at first, but may enhance or inhibit gaining experience later on. Much more likely, the game will trap enhancing effects and limit or even completely negate them.
So look at the overall picture. Each activity, individual spell, weapon use etc, in each of the three categories stealth, combat and magic, gives certain modifiers to the experience calculation formulas. HUNDREDS of modifiers, skill use multipliers and offsets, and improvement multipliers and offsets, each effected by further multipliers like the Lovers Stone OR Lovers Comfort, OR unusual circumstances like an artifact that gives stacked bonuses... the possibility of screwing the whole mess up due to some mod maker not taking all these mechanics into account is very real.

Yes, there is a time lapse, but no "Lover's comfort", at least in my case. Although it may be for the same reason.

I see now, thanks!
