This cabin...lol. You wouldn't believe the troubles I had getting all the AI-pathing to work in Cheydinhal with all the mods I had...this one was particularly goofy re: pathing. I ended-up redoing the entire city. Awww, cute cats. I thought cats avoided water?

Edit: just wanted to add - I have pretty strong feelings about slavery in fiction, and for the most part I feel like Morrowind does it right. But I don't like the way it plays female slaves' suffering for laughs (the Zainab Nerevarine mission, "The Lusty Argonian Maid", stuff like that) . Agreed. It made it a pain to write that part of my main quest fanfic. I ended up breaking from the way the game does it in order to keep continuity with how the main character does (and doesn't!) do things. p.s. I'm also running OpenMW. Aside from some minor annoyances, it's been running fine for me.

I re-read Sniffles' post. My mistake: I'm a dope. There was a paragraph on Morrowind and the next paragraph was Oblivion and I didn't notice the transition. Plus I somehow overlooked Umbra when I played Oblivion. D'oh!

Loosing a bet with the Twins! That reminds me of that one part of the Billy Ray Cyris & Lil Nas X "Old Town Road" video. "You cheated, though. That horse got like a v12."

For some demented reason I became convinced I had to kill the Bosmer Umbra inside. It didn't make sense. Why would they make a game where this twerp automatically killed me in one whack? Something had to be broken. I gave up after two or three weeks then a year or so of playing the game I got the quest to plonk that Umbra chick Umbra is a male Orc. I guess you had some mods in there?

New character? Don't think I've seen this one before. p.s. Regarding the text: I thought Dibella and Mara were part of the Imperial Cult's pantheon? Did I miss something?

Meeting an attractive High Elf female at an outdoor bar, for information regarding a missing royal person, Graykin couldn't help but notice how closely observant the Twins and company were acting. While they were Trying to be unobtrusive about their behavior, it was completely apparent to everyone nearby! Graykin sighed thinking to himself of afterwards, just how he would be grilled without mercy by them all! Setting up that shot must have been a lot of work. I imagine you had to place everyone via in-game console or some such?

.... I just love the effort that was put into making the plants look like their RL namesakes. Which underscores one of my major complaints with Oblivion. According to the maps Morrowind and Cyrodiil share a border - they are adjacent to each other on an unknown planet with two moons. But while Morrowind is an alien world of strange flora and fauna, of wizards living in giant hollow mushrooms, of kagouti and guar and nix-hounds; Cyrodiil is medieval earth, with walled towns, ordinary oak and pine trees, and deer and bears and mountain lions and wolves ...and two creatures - minotaur and unicorn - direct from earth mythology. Apparently that border is an advanced force field which prevents anything but sentient beings (elves, nords, orcs, etc.) from crossing. Agreed! In that regard, they were lazy when they made Oblivion. Oh, that and the twitchy ugly chargen, no spears, no levitation, and the lore contradictions. The only (partial) return to a Morrowind-style level of originality was the Shivering Isles expansion.

I'm three years into my present play through, level 2, and have done nothing but pick flowers. I haven't even got above rats for random spawn enemies. Yikes. Sounds like one of those crafting-focused MMOs.

Dude, that screenie's giving me 80s flashbacks! You've got Rigmor looking exactly like Pat Benatar! "We will be invincible ..." Arrg, now I have that song in my head. Err, wait a minute, isn't Rigmor a guy's name? (sorry, I never played Skyrim)

Speaking to the Twins, Graykin asked them to put away their bows, as the humidity was high enough to affect them. "So, when we fight now, we'll be getting in close, OK?" He starred at them both intently. "Sure!" the Elder Vilja exclaimed, "We're not afraid of staring the enemies right in the eyes!", as they checked their weapons confidently! You know what I just noticed? In recent screenshots you've posted, everything is nearly gray-scale except for the forehead dots (gems?): those are high-saturation pure hues.
