If you know the location of the word walls you can always find them, regardless of if you are running a related quest or not. The related quest just marks the location on your map. You can't get into 4 places with Wordwalls without joining the College (Saarthal), Joining/Destroying the Dark Brotherhood (DB Sanctuary), Companions (Ysgramor's Tomb), or the Thieves Guild (Snow View Sanctum). They are all KEY locked except the Sactuary, which has a voice code to open.

At least the Dark Brotherhood can be outright destroyed in Skyrim.
My Pet Peeve: Having to join Thieves, Companions, Dark brotherhood, and the college of Winterhold (mages) to gain all shouts.
I can take the Mages (who wouldn't like the restoration school (healing) anyways? ), and the DB one can be gained thru destroying the guild but the others?
Companions isn't so bad (only forced to change to werewolf once), but really? WHat's a mage supposed to do? They don't fight with blades (usually)?

You are quite correct, blockhead, in your description of the journal system. (Man, that sentence sounds so wrong...)

The Headless Horseman Spectre appears the same way that Ma'iq the Liar does. Just keep running along the roads, eventually you'll find him (or he you). Hunting for Some "roots" for you-know-who from Skingrad. The Dungeon is Blackreach, btw. Follow the Main Quest, you can't miss it. Then enter the Field Research building to find him.

Where was the sword in the skeletal hand found?

VERY difficult to see, but this has a nifty little easter egg. The White spec under the Compass is actually a pair of ghosts. Someone in Bethesda Likes "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", as the ghosts are of a Headless Horseman on his ghostly Horse. He's as Random as Ma'iq, and less interactive. Amelia Strongheart is an ALtmer female wearing Archmage robes, Gold Sapphire ring, Moonstone/silver and Sapphire headband (don't remember what they are called) and fine fur shoes & Gauntlets. She is also the daughter of my last Oblivion Character, Amenia (who made a trip to Summerset Isle, got married, and returned to Cyrodiil as Countess of Kvatch (mods). THat B**** of a guard at the begining should be very glad she's dead.....

What outfit is that? (not that my Altmeri Pyromancer would wear it.... she's just too cold in Skyrim....)

I think the pinkish and bluish spots on the floor are the same thing, wotan. I learned they can be set of at a distance when I creamed myself in one. Also watch, some places have firepots that are suspended over them (well, pots, at least). Droping them wil have the same effect.

It is neither starter armor nor default undies, so therefore it must be a mod.
My favourite pic right now would be of a place selling either Cure Disease potions, or even better, a spelltome.
Poor Amleia. She's caught some disease (rockjoint, I think) that makes her 25% less effective at melee (which she doesn't mind, as she's a caster), but she (and I myself) is getting rather tired by all the "don't take this badly, but you're looking rather sickly" comments. Found many reagents, but nothing that could cure diseases.

Found a trap the hard way with my pyromancer. Note to self: pinkish shiny spots on floor are highly combustable......
