Vilja with shouts?

'Dovahkiin and The Apprentice of Thu'um'.  This is a quest in the Quests section on Nexus.  On completion, it allows player to teach shouts to a follower.
What is the difference between a companion and a follower?

Vilja is my companion. Would player be able to teach her some shouts? Would it break Vilja or the game in her case? As opposed to a follower.

Just watched the video It seems it's only one shout per follower/companion.

The terms Follower and Companion are interchangeable - they are the same.

Companion was used with previous TES games but Skyrim came with the companions faction in place of the fighters guild so companions were called followers instead to keep from being confused with the actual companions like Aela.

As for the mod itself the only thing you can do is give it a try and see if it will cause problems. There is a very good chance it will make changes that will break Vilja so be sure to make a save before trying it out on Vilja.
