Have you ever been out in Morrowind for a long time and wonder why it is the weather is always the same? I have thought hard on such things, and being a cloudy day loving, snow dwelling person, I have sought out a mod that adds proper seasons to Morrowind. I have found a few that seem okayish, but I am curious, have any of you seen a good mod that adds changing seasons to this wonderful game?

I have never seen a mod lie that, but I've wanted a mod like that. It would be nice to see a little thaw in Solstheim, if only for a couple of weeks.
I would also love to see the area stricken by the blight slowly recover after the main quest is completed.

Well, while I don't normally mod, I might use the scripts from these mods to help me make one like that. The blight effected areas being a bit harder.... but I know that there is a way to make the ground textures change from grass to snow, and so on, via a global script, so I aim to figure it out.... provided there isn't a good one out there.

I think the fact that the blight never recovered after the main quest, even by a little, was a slight disappointment in an otherwise great game.

Aye, that bugged me as well, I would like to work on fixing that somehow.... it's just been years since I did a mod... so it will take time to get into.... Those are nice, and the simple seasons seems good, just wish they DID do something with trees and the ground. I have that one, actually, it's okay, but I am aiming for full immersion, thanks for the links though

You would have to make new models of every tree and groundtexture with and without leaves LoL and with all the different tree mods that are out there then you would have to do it for every tree replacer.... didn't think about that eh? This would have to be done by a modder at the same time as they are making their tree replacer mod and not only would they have to create the new textures they would also have to write the scripting. There are not so many modders that do both so now your little leaf mod "want" has become a major project. Also replacing all the trees without leaves and then adding ground cover full of leaves is beyond the capabilities of the game engine. You would have to reload all the new textures and then re-draw the LOD while the game is running and that is something that can not be accomplished even with the new Skyrim creation engine and modern gaming rigs. You are venturing into the impossible zone but keep dreaming... one day it may be possible when they can figure out out how to fit 1000 ram into a laptop XDD

On top of that, there are ways to make it work with default ground textures, and with the development of OpenMW things like a seasons mod will be more possible. And yes, I didn't think of all the complications I am not some total noob, I did use to mod, nothing public, but I have done my fair share of scripting, modeling, and cell creating, so it's not outside of my capabilities, maybe outside my patience atm, but still possible. Never underestimate anything, you never know

I recall some individual season mods, but nothing dynamic; you had to manually swap textures (I think one had a .bat file to install/uninstall). The Spring season had more flowers and brighter foliage; the autumn mod just changed the colors of leaves on trees and replaced the grass in some areas with fallen leaves. A winter mod basically extended Solstheim weather/textures to all of VVardenfell.
Such a mod as you suggest is possible, but would require extensive scripting tied to the in-game calendar to swap hundreds of meg of textures and models, weather effects, etc. And it would be very difficult to make such changes gradual, nor could the necessary swaps be done while you were outside; so the seasonal change would be instantaneous and would only occur while you were in an interior cell (go inside when it's autumn, with leaves on the ground, come out five minutes later to a blizzard, with snow everywhere).
"...one day it may be possible when they can figure out out how to fit 1000 ram into a laptop XDD"
The assumption being everyone uses a laptop?
Four computers in my apartment, not a laptop among them. I can't imagine anything beyond arcade games on a laptop, to me a 19" screen is small (I'm now suffering with one, a recent power outage killed my 23" and I'm waiting on parts for it; saving for a better vid card and a 27", possibly a 32", monitor).
