Yesterday, we cleared out Ravenrock Mine. We exited from the back and Vilja was following me after the short stint in the domain of Hermeus Modra. (sp?) When I teleported back to Ravenrock, Vilja wasn't with me. Her "quest" marker showed her to be in the previous location, i.e. backdoor of the mines. Whenever I tried to quicktravel to her, or even walk over to that location, I get a CTD without any message. I have already disabled Autosave on travel.
Is there a way to get her back with me?
Thanks in advance!

Small update: I summoned her to me, but now she won't follow and I can't talk to her. Whenever I press the action key, nothing happens. So I can't use the "Reset" option either. Is there a console command for that, perhaps?

Hopefully you get her working again! I use the "Summon Vilja" Power/Shout quite often without any problems, no need to any console commands.

Try summoning her to you with your character just inside the back door of the mine. She thinks she is still in there. If that works leave by the main mine entrance. Solstheim has several bugged traps like that one. There should be two warnings given when boarding the ship: SAVE YOUR GAME FIRST. And upon arrival: Welcome to Solstheim. Abandon all hope for a crash free game all ye who enter here.

If Sniffle's suggestion doesn't work and you can summon Vilja outside the mine but she won't follow start a "friendly fight" (Let's talk about strategy - menu) with her. This will clear any scenes her AI has still stored. Afterwards you can also cast the Vilja Reset Spell on her.

This will clear any scenes her AI has still stored. Afterwards you can also cast the Vilja Reset Spell on her. Go into the PC menu, select restoration spells then Vilja reset spell. Combine with getting her to go back through the mine. Get Wolf to explain pathing and how that dorf mine exit connects to the Orion nebula. This is a little odd as Vilja usually has herself much more together than other followers. There is a particularly weird exit from a dungeon in the Falskaar mod that balks all other followers but Vilja (and Sindra) (usually) sail on through. Maybe Wolf could explain what happens.

The problem is: I can't talk to her and the game crashes before I even approach the mine exit. I'm going to use the reset spell now.

Nope, Reset spell didn't work either. Looks like a lost game.

Nope, Reset spell didn't work either. Looks like a lost game. Untick the Vilja mods, both of them, clean the save game then try. You can always bring Vilja back via the Bannered Mare. Vilja removal: Untick the mods. Start a game and wait 51 in game hours. Save game. Clean the save. Retick the mods, go to the Bannered Mare, meet Vilja, have Beata bring your relationship with Vilja up to date. PS While many others will report they have had no problems, I have experienced so many crashes of the game with Solstheim I won't even go there any more. Between a rather shoddy and not well written plot, an ugly landscape (compared to Skyrim - Skyrim with Fallout flavoring??) and numerous badly coded and poorly tested cells, I'd rather just keep that bit of garbage out of our saved games.

Download www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31724/?Follow the directions carefully. It's pretty simple. UNTICK both Vilja mods, the Skyrim and the Solstheim. Then proceed as follows: IE: 1. Load SKYRIM on your PC and load your save file. 2. Once you are in the game, open the console using the ~ key on your keyboard 3. type in the following: save mysave 1 4. The game will now make a dump file, so you will need to wait a few minutes while the dump is generating the "mysave.ess.txt" AND "mysave.ess" 5. load SKYRIM Save Cleaner.exe 6. click on "fix all REFR's", Follow the prompts "mysave.ess.txt" AND "mysave.ess" are in your skyrim saves folder eg. "C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves" 7. the tool will take approx 2 min searching for the REFRs' 8. the tool will take approx 10min removing the found REFR's (SKYRIM IS HUGE, so is your savefile) 9. once finished load "mysave.ess" in your game of SKYRIM from the Load Menu 10 play ^_^ I would add, load the mysave, save that as a new save, test the game. Try to crash things. If it is stable wait 51 in game hours then save again. Then exit the game, retick the Vilja mods, (BOTH, if you don't retick the V in Soltheim it will corrupt your new saves), restart the game, enter Bannered Mare in Whiterun, say hello to the new Vilja, progress with her a little bit, talk to Beata (Also found in the Bannered Mare) and bring Vilja up to where you were through that dialogue. PS After the 51 hour wait it would do no harm to run the entire save game cleaner again. Not necessary but if you suspect hiccups. That just assures all the corrupt scripts are gone. PPS It can't be stressed enough: TURN OFF ALL AUTOSAVES. These are guaranteed game corrupters and the very best source of the save game blues.

Done all of it, but I can't find Beata. I recovered Vilja's Bottle and we've agreed to travel to Eldergleam together.

Beata will only show up if you talk to Vilja, "Traveling together..." → "Off-topic - Configuration and Settings" → "We have already done (some of) your quests!" This will summon Beata to The Bannered Mare immediately. To avoid conflicts, you are recommended to ask Vilja about Beata when you are somewhere else other than at the Bannered Mare.
