I'm absolutely all for the idea . I agree with Amgepo that a robust non-aristocratic cat like the striped one (princess Abbie) would fit her best, or the tricolored one. But if you give her the tricolored one, make sure that it has a female name, as male cats can not be tricolored (the color gene is in the X-cromosoms for cats, hence will a male cat only inherit its color from its mother and therefore tricolored cats have to be female, i.e. inherited color from both mother and father). Of course, a norwegian forest cat would be perfect for her, but it would require quite some remodeling to give the right impression . I have a norwegian forest cat, myself, and he is the most handsome and charming man animal I ever met. Well, you can see for yourself in the picture Collin posted. His name is Hagbard, but... I actually used that name in the Vilja-mod already. It's the name of the pet-wolf she nursed back in Solstheim. For a male cat, how about Tryggve? A female one could be for instance Helga.

So glad to have your blessing, Miss Emma I have another mod user who has two Norwegian Forest Cats (Loki and Beyla in the Shack) and while I haven't had a chance to properly remodel it is on my list of things to do. I love the name: Tryggve...rolls off the tongue, it does. (and I had no idea about the cat colours...that is good to know for continuing the mod). I want to make Vilja's cat stand out a wee bit, so perhaps darken the grey a bit and make him a wee bit larger? Oh and give him his own collar colour; how about a rich forest green colour?...give him a reason to stand out from the rest. I have -just- finished the magical Alfiq additions that were asked for (the best lore-bit I have received for this module), so now I can wrap up Vilja's cat module and send it for testing. I have decided to stick with a conversation part instead of an armour addon- Vilja has her own closet and I do not want to interrupt her already given jewelry or have it clash with other choices. I set the relationship to CatViljaFriend and they are listed as friends. Question: The current cats are ambient (except familiars) would you like Tryggve to swipe and do kitty things against enemies or is ambient kitty follower okay? Being able to make Vilja a cat friend is a great honour. Thank you so very much!

Seems the easiest way to bring the cat into Vilja's life is simply have it appear, like the pets do in Heartfire. Then add a couple of lines to Vilja's dialogue. Welcoming the cat, commenting about poop on the mantle and pillows, etc. And of course the mandatory animation of the cat trying to drag home a dead animal. Bear or lion. Or maybe mammoth? There is sits on the doorstep day after day as she tries to drag it into the house. (Emma may take a few shots at me for suggesting the dialogue.)

I wish some one had told me earlier in life you don't actually have to eat the cat's offerings. Oh well.

Here is the working colour scheme I have (sorry it's in Nifskope right now)

If you want the cats to act lore-wise against enemies magic the the way to go. There is a book (from a Cyrodiil author I believe) that covers a joint unit operation against the Bosmer where the Alfiq cover other Khajiit troops with their magic. I just can't remember the title of that book. Edit: Fount it: www.imperial-library.info/content/mixed-unit-tactics

Edit: Fount it: www.imperial-library.info/content/mixed-unit-tacticsI read that and even made a note on the front page The only thing is that the cats won't use magic at all ~grumpy face~ . I did everything from creating little babby spells that cost no mana, their own attack packages, everything! and they refused to fight so what I did was create buff auras instead. As far as I can tell animation editing takes quite some time and my bag of time is a wee bit on the lacking side. On that end- I THINK I have a working module. I am still in Riverwood on my current save game. I erased the wrong batch (whoops) So I don't have Vilja with me. If anyone else wants to test, let me know.

Hmmm they seem to be pretty small cats, nothing like a Norwegian Forest in size. Still I do have a lovely skeever killer in Breezhome so no need to worry about my honeynut treats any more.

I am helping the author with some testing and she has decided to pull the mod off Nexus while we work out some problems. Mainly her working out the problems and me saying, nope not fixed yet. In my opinion the last stable build was 3.1b. That is the version I am running while not testing.
zedtsayid, you want a small cat take home Nano. That is a small cat.

There are a few large cats...I have Trygvve set up to be a base size of 32 (I think...I am getting lost with all the cat names). And while he won't look -exactly- Norwegian Forest...he will be sized appropriately.
So I have a question for the Vilja devs- is it possible for me to copy the keyword you have for Vilja and xEdit the same formID so that the ability to recruit him is based if Vilja is there or not. Basically the cat is included in the main module but won't activate without her. If I can do that it will cut down on ESPs.
PS - Massive thank you for all your testing, btw, Naramoore. I have finally figured out how to get the right packages to attach and now I am playing around with them to keep them just enough animated to not be bleh but not so much all they do is pace.

I guess the kids would love a cat. I remember the first reaction when I returned home to Heljarchen Hall and was greeted by one of my girls (can't remember if it was Lucia or Sofie) "Papa, you're back! ... Is that your pet? He looks scary." To note is that Fealor you can get on Wyrmstooth is a female wolf.
