Thought we could jump over here from the Helgen thread for continuity sake.
So far on a heavy modded game it's running good. The only irk I have is not being able to fast travel. At level 89, I have found every nook and cranny, butch have to travel on Unicorn back half way across the Rim. Thank goodness my horned steed climbs mountains well and glides down softly. Gotta stop dragon, stop again bandits, out run wolves and bears.
Rigmor 1 is very good and well written and acted. Compelling character and engaging.
I just got out of the mine and arrived at Angi's camp. Stage "The Promise"

I love Friday nights and video games. Played SSE for nearly 8 hours last night doing Rigmor exclusively. Made a lot of progress and without giving things away, I have good news. As time passes, she starts to grow hair on her own. This is a very engaging mod! Had to force myself to stop, wanted to keep going and I just woke up and want to play.

Without having played the mod yet, my guess is the shaven head is due to Rigmor's injuries before you meet the Khajiit.

OMG!!! Best mod I have ever played. Glad I just learned of it, because waiting 15 days will be hard enough to wait for the sequel. I love this girl!

Remember, always take release dates with a gain of salt. Occasionally someone will meet them. What I mean is if I had played this in Dec and had to wait longer, would be agonizing. Read that she will be marriageable in the next release, wonder if it will conflict with Vilja.

I just started playing it. Obviously a lot of work and talent as well as knowledge of TES lore went into this mod, but I do not think it is as good as, eg Helgen Reborn. It has so many quest stages for each quest, including objectives like "talk to Rigmor" or anyone who half the time has nothing to say requiring you to go through that "be yourself" routine or reload an earlier save. There appear to be a lot of finicky triggers to advance quest stages, especially those which trigger some quest npc to speak. I could also do without 15 minute speeches describing battles (that windbag Imperial who is a pain to get to talk and then will not shut up). The combat is somewhat hard on my old computer, but mainly it seeks to increase the difficulty mainly by spawning more foes. Fighting a million tainted spiders and skeevers is not my idea of fun. Rigmor is well-voiced but in terms of dialogue with the player character has almost nothing to say. As to conflicting with Vilja, I do not see one, other than a marriage one if someone wants to marry Rigmor. There are custom companions you can marry and still have a vanilla skyrim marriage (Mrissi, Sophia)-not so with Vilja. She has a good sniffer for that marriage flag.

It was the conversation I liked. It was engaging and pulled you in. Beats opening a book and reading drivel. Yes, it has its quirks, and triggers are slow to enact. But it was, to me immersing. Perhaps it's because I have logged over 1000 hours between Old Rim and SSE. Played with many mods, some good, many horrible.
The work Jeff and company have done is remarkable, and remember one thing, it's free!
Bethesda wants to charge for mods now, so with Rigmor you are getting a DLC sized game to continue the world we fell in love with more than a decade ago.

IMO, Rigmor is an awesome, ambitious (and sadly fairly buggy) quest mod with a follower who has some great dialogue (and voice acting) during points of her quest but almost nothing to say at any other time, rather than a follower mod with a quest. I had to use a lot of console commands and other futzing to get things to progress, which was probably my main complaint (and apparently none of those issues have been fixed in the latest release as someone I know who played through her questline very recently said the same thing), though I was quite disappointed when I realised that several of the 'really well-designed dungeons' in the mod were simply copied and pasted from vanilla locations I wasn't familiar with. I also think it's a shame that outside specific dialogue during her quest she has hardly anything to say, because the voice actress is very good. I tried playing with the Just Rigmor download (literally just her 'post-quest' I guess, as a standalone follower) and all she ever really said was 'tut', 'mhm', 'oh, sorry', and I think she had one comment in several hours of play on our surroundings (something like 'wow, this is really nice'.) Her sword also made her incredibly OP as I picked her up at the start of the game to test out/roleplaying that we'd already been through her questline and were returning from a trip to Morrowind, as she's found at that border post. Still, although yes, there was a bit of Important And Slightly Tedious Exposition Through Speeches, and the above criticisms aside, I *thoroughly* enjoyed my 30 hours of dedicated-to-Rigmor's-story playthrough. Almost all the voice acting was decent or better (yes, that Imperial guy was... IIRC he reminded me of Marvin, the Paranoid Android from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or one of those text to speech programs), the writing was mostly pretty good (even if bits of the dialogue were a bit cliche the storyline was engaging, the characters were consistent, etc), the dungeons were fun, most of the fights were pretty balanced (though there was the occasional massive spike in difficulty which then dropped off), they used a couple of vanilla NPCs very well (I'm still not sure if the extra lines for Angi and the lines for the little girl were original acting closely mimicking the vanilla voices, or spliced-together/unused vanilla lines). And the outdoor battle sequence near the end of the mod was AWESOME - like how vanilla Civil War stuff should have been - even if I did only barely manage to get through parts of it on my old PC by switching off Frostfall and any other scripted mods I could in their MCMs... I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't played that far yet, so I won't go into specifics, but I absolutely loved that. (I did end up finding the romance stuff a bit uncomfortable as, well, my character was around the age my characters usually are, late 20s/early 30s, so I kinda had to retcon her to more like very early 20s as Rigmor is clearly about 18/19 and fairly naive to boot. I did romance her, though, because it felt right for the storyline, and because I am an old softy and hate making NPCs feel bad by saying 'nah, not interested, YOU'RE A TINY CHILD' or whatever.) Personally, I preferred her shaven head look, it was unique, and made a change from all the pretty-pretty followers (I love Vilja, she gets a free pass, but it was nice to have someone who was a bit different), though if her hair grows in stages that'd be pretty cool. I did try out the 'wear your hair X' options in the Just Rigmor download and the 'long and straight' one was quite pretty, the 'long and curly' option really doesn't suit her, again, IMO. Because of how buggy the mod was, I'm not sure I'd use it in a regular playthrough, but I definitely plan to have another playthrough of the most recent Rigmor and the sequel when that comes out. A dedicated playthrough with a minimal modlist (Frostfall, iNeed, maybe Immersive Armours and a few minor quality of life fixes like Extended Stay and I'm a Customer, Dammit) and a character more age appropriate for romancing her (like I said, old softy, felt bad turning her down, would try and play a MUCH older character but then it'd feel super weird that she was crushing on 'me', so...) would be great, and continuing into Cyrodiil would be awesome. (I'm curious as to whether Rigmor of Cyrodiil will be compatible with Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, given as I understand it Rigmor (the modder) has made their own version of Cyrodiil, and I presume it uses the 'no borders' thing and you travel there on foot rather than it being in a new worldspace (like Solstheim), though I could be wrong.)

I agree with the post quest dialog. Maggie was awesome. If she could do 50-100 more lines for post quest interaction would tickle me pink.
I don't often comment on mods, as most don't need it, and some it's better to not say anything. I have never even considered donating to modder's, but in this case, I am strongly considering it.

I should have known better than to comment on this mod when I had not played that much of it. I have now finished it and it just kept getting better. There were still the bugs referenced in valindril's excellent post, but it is an impressive work and underappreciated imo. I was also a bit uncomfortable with the romance dialogue. My goofy character is already a bigamist (Mrissi, Sofia, and Serana), so I chose the kid sister route with Rigmor. I thought he did a great job in making those options available. Like all mods and the game itself, many of the dialogue choices available to the player make me cringe. I hope the author will resist cries for versions which beautify or sexualize Rigmor. Her "Maid of Orlean" look is perfect as it is.

The spoken dialogue is always going to be a problem. Look at Emma's herculean efforts. Far more than any other mod yet it rapidly becomes repetitious. It can't compare to what we are used to on any given day where we commonly hear >500,000 spoken words and often a lot more.

Got a message from Jeff ( Rigmor) and he said that Rigmor of Cyrodiil is coming out late this year or early next. It's different from Beyond Skyrim: Bruma. So, I will patiently wait. By that time I will most likely be ready to start over with SSE mods I like as more and more are coming out, and bugs worked out.
Why is this game so addictive?

Rigmor/Jeff has been working on his own space for the squeal. Do you know if he is going to be utilizing the pace of Beyond Skyrim as well?
