There's a bit of a buzz in a few places, but mainly from modders, the fact that it's an alpha release and NOT recommended for users to try is probably why things seem fairly subdued, it's been released so the modmakers can check it out and see what changes they may need to make to their mods.
As far as the modmakers themselves are concerned, the maker of SKY UI has promised an official port to SSE this weekend after other modmakers reported that they ported it to SSE themselves and apart from a few things was working fine. It was reported that "dormant" MCM's appeared for mods ported to SSE still containing the MCM, most of which were functional.

Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/6zlgxk/skse64_200_alpha/ Mostly says this is an ALPHA and don't get your hopes up too far. And don't but mod authors to death about porting their mods. Nexus Thread forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4979480-skse/page-72Which says nothing. Blather, Blather, Blather

Some one already put the ini file on the Nexus. And I think I saw a skyui posted up, but could be wrong.

Interestingly, the SKSE64 alpha lets me run SkUI 4.1 (not the 5.1 re;lease, because I didn't like the crafting changes). And my own Hulk Out! mod with its race and size transformation. So now it's wait for an official release, and there will be a flood of "new" mods for SSE.

As of this morning SKSE64 has had two updates. schlangster reported that he has a working SkyUI but that it crashed in the map menus, so he was postponing a release.
Inbrief SKSE64 is still in beta (And will be for a good while) SkyUI is still in port mode but looking pretty solid. For the brave or foolish there is now a Enhanced Character Edit SE by ECE team available for the SKSE64

I tried it but removed all files when MO2 was giving resource error and couldn't writing to file when closed. It is an Alpha after all.

The alpha version of SkyUI 5.1 SE is now available at: www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12604/?Modder's quote "This is an unsupported alpha version for testing. Use at your own risk. Requires SKSE64 2.0.2 alpha or newer." Note from poster: I will not be testing this at the moment. My 2.2 version is working okay and I am doing a Rigmor run. And for those of you that don't know about Rigmor of Bruma, it is super easy to break and I am not going to take that risk. I have already had to restart it once due to a critical failure that may have been caused by "Apocalypse Magic"

So anyone playing SSE becareful not to let Steam update you. Just had a new "update" 1.5.80 SKSE has already updated but it will take awhile for all the skse dependant mods to update.
