I'm up and running now. But trying to start M'rissi quest. Went to Riverwood inn, but no one there, to start quest. I thought first was info in there, then to Bannered Mare to speak with drunks. Where am I wrong? I wanted to get M'rissi before Vilja. Thanks

It starts with the Thamor taking her maid prisoner. You need to rescue her.
Travel from Whiterun toward the ?West towers? (The one the dragon attacks)

Did you run into the Thalmor on the road to the tower near Whiterun? They are at the rock where you meet Irileth and the Whiterun guards for "Dragon Rising" to kill Mirmulnir. I had to check the guide myself with the updated SSE version after running into them on the way to fight Mirmulnir. Imagine my surprise as I'm ambushed and killed by Thalmor!

Well, that's different. The old way was to listen to the drunks in the Bannered Mare, then with a chat in the inn at Riverwood.
I'll take a hike up the road then. See whatever transpires there. I'm not running the SSE version, still with the old faithful.
Thanks for the update.

Hi naramoore, it's very different approach, this new M'rissi. I've got her with me now but don't like her compared to the old one. I always felt I had to take care of her, she has lost a lot in the new one.even her looks aren't as nice to me. Doesn't seem to have the same 'air of mystery' I also find it hard to understand her, \i have no idea where to look for the satchel, map shows it's somewhere near Helgen in the mountains. Been there, nothing but snow and rocks. Very unhappy lad here.

The satchel is in an old tower infested by bandits.

Didn't have much problem with M'rissi. Lucky mainly. I didn't take the books, since I hadn't read the manual, so I never got her fully upgraded. No Rigmor, I have had to back up twice now. Once because at 4th level Ice Trolls kick my butte. And the second time because I took Angies horse too soon, which blows up the recruitment script. That one I didn't find out till about 10 hours of play time. Not happy about it, but what can you do.
Since I never played the first version of M'rissi I can compare it to the old one. I enjoyed the second version. Played it with a high level (50-60) character which meant I could handle the dream sequence without a problem.

The satchel is in an old tower infested by bandits. But where is the tower? I remember the old one had the satchel in a tower but I have a problem hearing what she is saying, Hearing aid is up to date, but I don't get her. Funny because I got everything old M'rissi said. If I could find her I would D/L her.

I believe the tower being referenced is the Bannermist Tower near Falkreath and not too far from Moss Mother's Cavern, Knifepoint Ridge, and a hunter's shack. Hint: If you want maximum points with her after finding the satchel, lie about her name. Totally counter-intuitive, but important later.

Lying about her name comes much later doesn't it?

Yep Bannermist Tower. Telling her about her past comes later. Yip lost some points on telling her the truth and not calling her fluffy.
