We went to Vivec, I wore my ring of Invisibility, (The Ordinators hate me) Constance casts a spell (Invisibility? Chameleon ?) Then 3 Ordinators + 1 Civilian attacked her - She kills them. Was she really Not Invisible ? Do companions always get attacked ? I like the way she gets falling down drunk if you let her carry the booze.

If you've been spotted, casting an invisibility or chameleon spell won't help - you must remain undetected else you're open to enemy attack.

If you had been spotted before becoming invisible Constance may have already been triggered to combat mode so enemies would target her (invisibility or chameleon? Constance will copy you). Also, and this is so easy to forget, if you do anything at all while invisible you lose the invisibility, so do not open doors or containers, pick up items, draw or sheath weapons, cast spells, etc. (I also used a ring for invisibility and found you could successfully cast spells - cast the spell and immediately, while the spell animations/effects are still on screen, open your inventory, remove the ring then put it back on, close the inventory; the spell is cast and you are still invisible ...my pure mage was a terror using this tactic with a strong absorb health on touch spell).
FWIW, I strongly suspected Ascended Sleepers can detect you even when you are invisible, so be careful around them.
And, as with any game, sometimes the programming just hiccups and the game does something dumb.

We were not spotted (we became Invisible before crossing the bridge).
My ring of Invisibility (Obfuscation) is not disabled by Actions (though I have somehow been 'Spotted' when nicking some things).
Ascended Sleepers are no problem --- I sometimes harvest them (or Golden Saints) for Soul Gems for Constant Effect items or just for the money.

It happened again --- This time I told her to go to Vivec, I entered Invisible and all was well... Until I spoke to her and she decided to became [NOT] 'Invisible' --- Then the Ordinator attacked her, she killed him, we fled.
But I'm gong to bin her: Because she got me arrested [EGGS] and then got a bounty put on me for a lousy pair of shoes (Plus her Quest is moving Very SLOW).
Companions are more trouble than they are worth !

If you "entered" while invisible, then you became visible, and so did Constance. If you spoke to her while invisible, you became visible, and so did she. If you interact with anything at all while invisible you lose the invisibility, and Constance will always copy your actions as far as invisibility, chameleon, levitating, water walking, and water breathing, unless you put her in guard or wander mode. The eggs are a comedic scripted event, if you are quick you can drop them before the guard accosts you. And Constance IS a thief, so she will on occasion get you in trouble ("She's unpredictable. She's unreliable. She's greedy. She's trouble. As a companion, she is probably worth her weight in... scrap metal. On the other hand, she might be an amusing company. At least if you can stand a companion that loves to chat your ears off, drink your booze and pick the pockets of your friends."). I always considered her quest line well geared to the rest of the game, it progresses as you adventure rather than being a brief sequence of events you complete in a few game days. In fact, from the first time I used Constance she became an integral part of my game. But if you prefer a less interactive companion there are many from which to choose. Hilda is a Nord warrior, a good melee fighter but basically a meat shield and pack mule; she has no quests and little unique dialog (she can tell you the time and how many slaves you've freed), will teleport with you, and can be resurrected when killed. Lady Death is a similar companion in a goth mold, she has her own lair and custom weapons. Kendra is a mage who can heal you both in combat. Laura Craft is somewhere between Hilda and Constance, she has a quest line (which may get you involved in fights with people from her past), a romance option, and you have some control over her skill progression (by purchasing skill books for her to read), but is not as involved as Contance. Perhaps the most unusual is the original companion from the game - the dwemer sphere who was virtually useless since he usually got killed within a couple of days; a mod makes him a full fledged companion with all normal features, there's a short quest to get him and learn to repair him. If you truly want a handful, try the Witch-Girl, a powerful companion with strong destruction and summoning abilities ...so powerful she's as dangerous to you as to your enemies (imagine the trouble you're in if she senses a fight and summons a daedra ...in the middle of town). So I recommend not teaming up with her until at least level 10-15, especially as you also meet her family, which gives access to services that may be over balancing early in the game. I tried all the above, and always returned to Constance. (Her thievery improves as she levels, and it's quite rare she gets caught; but all through the game she gives you things she has acquired ...though she never seems to acquire anything of value.) All these and more can be found at gmml.pbworks.com/w/page/5990102/CompanionsOne thing to remember with any companion - the game considers all their actions to be your actions, so you get blamed for anything they do. Also if anything attacks you, whether a rat or an ordinator, for any reason, your companion will retaliate. So you need to be especially careful in towns.

She gave me Glass Daggers & Assorted Gems But to get busted for Eggs + Shoes ! I played the Witch Girl (she is still in Ald'ruhn) and Sammie the Bosmer (by JMK) no complaints. imgur.com/EY2uK4Uimgur.com/l5l7LGCI had a Wolf Companion briefly but that was boring. And --- At no time did I become visible.
