I just bought SSE and I'm about to ask for my money back! Whoopdie-do... more impressive snow storms, sunsets and sun rises. In the mean time, Vilja looks like she's on Prozac... corners of her mouth curled up like a smile all the time. She get a lobotomy? No- she got SSE'd. So I tried the Seyheb mod and she looked like a freaking cartoon! Just got done talking to Anesia (my little hearththrob) and she's lost all the important accents. She looks like a generic avatar from Second Life now. And speaking of Anesia, Vilja never did give me the list of ingredients she got from her. To make matters worse, Steam won't even let me play the "normal" version of Skyrim anymore. When I was working on a mod for SSE, half the stuff I put in containers was gone, while other stuff was duplicated. Bethesda can stuff it all in their arsel! I'm done with them! I feel really bad for Emma and the crew who put so much work into "upgrading" Vilja for a crap rendition of Skyrim.

Oh well, guess you'll have to dig out the disc of the original version and reinstall ... oh wait: the gaming industry has screwed us all by not distributing games on physical media any more.

OK, got the old version running. I had to create a shortcut to the GAME exe... not the Steam Launcher. Go figure... THAT never worked before. At least i got the Vilja I know and love back. I'm a happy little berzerker now Maybe someday I'll be able to buy Skyrim from GOG. Then I can burn it to DVD like I did with FO3 and FONV. Remind me to shove my bastard sword up Bethesda's wazoo... just so they know why it's called a bastard!

That is why I will never play Skyrim; I can coexist with Steam but not with a developer who decides to solely release his game via Steam, thereby depriving me of the option of where to spend my money. I take exception to the snoopware, er ..."management software", foisted on us by Steam, EA/Origin, Ubi, and others; if i am not involved in multiplayer there is no acceptable need for a game to go online. So most of my gaming dollar the past few years has been spent picking up older titles I missed along the way, with the added benefit of never having to worry if my system meets requirements to run them.

In my case, I'd just like to wean myself from distributors like Steam. The ONLY reason I bought SSE is because llamaRCA is working on a new companion for Skyrim. (She made the Willow mod and the Heather Casdin mod, and they're pretty good. Not as deep as Vilja but llama's voice acting has gotten really believable.) Of course, the "Liliana" mod is being made for SSE. So... I spent the money and immediately installed Vilja and Sofia. The character graphics blew me away! I mean that in the Revolutionary War sense, where they would tie a traitor to the muzzle of a canon and "blow away" the culprit. I thought the original version of Skyrim was beautiful enough... so who cares about rosy sunsets? Yes, the water looks so realistic, I stood on the edge of the Riverwood bridge and pee'd into the river I actually think that Bethesda is trying to wrestle away some of the Steam control. Now, the updated versions of Fallout 4 and Skyrim require you to connect to Bethesda in order to use the CK. I really think that's the entire motive for the changes... as you said JGF, it's "management software". Geez- I wonder if they could connect their CK to Alexa?!? Alexa... transfer my personal data to Bethesda, please. Anyway, I'm now happily playing with Vilja on the "old" Skyrim. And Anesia looks and sounds sooo sexy and sultry! Just wish there was more of her
