Thanks for posting this, Emma. I probably would have went a week or more without noticing it. All I can say is sweet!

To say the truth, now that I am finally started to play Oblivion (and Daggerfall), without abandoning Morrowind either, I think I could wait some years before giving a try to TES5 (besides my computer is at least two years old, and I'm not planning on buying a new one yet). Of course this means less time until all expansion packs, official patches and alternative tools to CS (I really don't like using the CS) are released. So, the earlier the release of TES5, the better.

It is good to hear this more-than-a-year-old rumor finally confirmed. Bandwich prevents me from seeing the video. Maybe eventually someone will pop it on youtube and then I can overnight it. Anyway, I find myself more than a little excited about this, since I like snowy landscapes. Probably won't run on my machine, though. Then again ... Bethesda released Oblivion in 2006 and it taxed the hardware of the day. It was a hog. Still is. They released Fallout 3 in 2009 or 2008 and it runs better and faster and at a higher res on the same hardware! This reversed the usual trend of newer games being more demanding on the hardware than older games. Though it is unrealistic to hope for this trend to continue, it would be nice. If Bethesda were to use the Fallout 3 engine as-is (well, the pip boy interface would have to be replaced with something more, umm, TES-like) to make TES5, it would be an amazing game.

I'm in no real hurry for TES 5... until it arrives I'll just happily continue to mod the existing TES-games 11 months from now suits me just fine... but for someone living where it's lots of snow in the winter, november isn't exactly the time when one long to go to Skyrim!

Video was small enough to fetch in under an hour. Nice. Video says the date is 11/11/2011. They must already be working on it. The engine, whatever it is, has to have already been implemented and now they're probably placing statics and building landscapes and stuff.

I'll probably wait until the reviews come out and I can see screenshots of it before I buy it. From what I've heard and seen of Oblivion, I haven't bothered to pick it up.

After a little peek at bethsoft forum, must say that no wonder they put out spears and crosbows in Oblivion. People ask too much things, often contradictory ones. The more concerning thing (for me) is the great amount of people asking a revisit to Solstheim as an expansion pack.
Solstheim was my favourite place of Morrowind, where introduces snow, blizzards, wolfs, pines… But in Skyrim it would be a new island with most of the same. In my opinion, an expansion pack should add new climate, new flora, new civilization types…
Nostalgia wise, I think it would be way better a revisit to the ashlands, with nomadic ashlander tribes mounted in guars.

Great news! Given how high the expectations are, I hope this represents a return to Morrowind quality form for Bethesda. Edit: New member? Huh! I couldn't get my old log in to work, so I re-registered with the same information.

Skyrim won't be an extended Solstheim. Indeed, it won't have nothing to do with that small snowy island from Morrowind, like real-life northern countries aren't all covered in snow just because they are "in the north". Iceland has flora and grass as well, and sun like any other country. I'm sure this new game will offer a great variety in terms of climate, flora, and new civilization types... A good read of the Skyrim lore will only help to understand this. Changing topic, here's a link about the game engine, which seems it will be "all new": www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/12/12/bethesda-says-skyrim-engine-all-new/
