Graykin, the last picture to the right, with one reading and one luteplaying Vilja startled me a little...
Vilja is supposed to always put on her clothing before she starts reading or playing! This is because else the animation won't run if she has a shield in her inventory. But your Vilja(s) are wearing armor. Could it be that you are using an animation mod for this screenshot?

Emma, I have the FNIS mod for a body graphics improver. But I don't know if that could have caused it. Usually with on/off or go/stay type commands I can get around it by using the "tai" command on one after "putting her in armor for example" then request the other one to do so. I have sometimes been able to accomplish the same thing by just leaving armor for one's inventory, then asking the other to change into it. (if it doesn't work I can teleport them to the nearest town and the one without apparel will promptly put the armor on. Usually though, at the cost of a lower disposition towards me! ). In that picture, it's Vilja the original who's playing the lute and Vilja the copycat who's reading. That was the first time Vilja no.#2 read anything!?!

I had similar trouble a while back, but I wasn't thinking nearly as good as graykin to wander around with Vilja twins. I was doing some old misc quests and decided to get rid of the Pelagius hip bone I had been carrying around forever. So I wandered around and ended up in the mind of Pelagius talking to Sheogorath. I had forgotten all about that quest, and it was still fun the second time around. But when I came out, Vilja was nowhere to be seen. I tried to summon her and got the notification that she could not be summoned right now. Oh no! Was she trapped in the dead king's mind forever?! So I ran around frantically, trying to see if I could fix the problem (the quest icon marking her was also gone), when suddenly she appeared...but she was without the armor I had given her. She acted as normal otherwise. Actually, even better. I had been having a problem with her weight limit being maxed out for a while (even though she was nowhere near carrying too much), but I had kept her around because she was excellent company and excellent help. But now she was able to be given things! Shortly after I noticed the Vilja #1 was back too (can't recall if I had tried to summon again or when exactly she appeared). Vilja #1 was still plagued with thinking she was carrying too much, so I took her armor and weapons, including Vilja's flute and lute, and gave it to Vilja #2. The ID codes were similar to graykin's, one started with 3B and the other started with fff. I was still trying to see if I could fix the problem, and at some point I disabled Vilja #1. She disappeared, leaving me with just Vilja #2. I thought the problem fixed, but a little while later noticed that there were now TWO quest icon markers. If I fast traveled or entered a new area, the ghost of Vilja #1 would be there, reminding me of how I had tried to erase her from existence. I could see her marker hovering in the air, but she wouldn't follow me. She just wanted me to know she was still there. Now I wish I had kept both around. I'm so sorry, Vilja #1! I eventually gave in to my guilt and fixed the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling Vilja and telling her we had already done some of her quests. So she's back now, better than ever, with her glass armor and green lightsaber (which makes her not only look badass, but is great for spotting her in the dark or if we're in close combat with similarly dressed enemies or just knowing she's around by hearing her lightsaber smack a grounded dragon). She's wandering around with some weird guy who thinks he's Batman because he has the armor, even though his race is Zabrak and wields a red lightsaber The only "problem" I have now with Vilja is that I think she's a nudist at heart. When we fast travel, she'll sometimes pop out naked, talking about "I'm not going into the city like this". The option for dressing is still at "You don't need to wear your armor now", but there's no "hey, you're the one that wanted to strip down". The simple fix is to ask her to show me her gear, which shows that she's unequipped everything (duh), and exiting the menu makes her get dressed. Or I could just watch her run around naked. She gets dressed eventually, I think. I don't mind it, it adds to her quirkiness in a way. Silly Vilja, all that wine and sweetrolls gets to her head. Don't get yourself arrested

Thank you for posting this Strych! Sorry it didn't pan out for you though! I found it impossible to delete either one (what a whooss, I know :-) !). I was told by some of the great people here that the Vilja with the "ff" at the beginning was the clone. In my case the clone can not be summoned, won't talk to anyone else but me and will do the opposite of what I ask my original Vilja to do (ex; when I ask one to wait the other is ready to follow...). But other than those minor inconveniences, it's been a lot of fun having them both (even with the occasional aggravation!)! I read where another Vilja devotee had several clones show up in the Inn at Riverwood but apparently he (gulp!) deleted them! Maybe there's a way to bring her back? You could try to recreate the circumstances again? I really don't know but, good luck whatever you decide to do! Graykin

I don't think there's a way back into the mind of Pelagius. That's what caused the trouble for me. It would seem I spoke too soon about her nudist streak being my only problem. Now she's back to acting like acting like she's carrying too much. Actually, she's acting like she can only fit one pound more in. Found this as I was taking back her two chain lightning staves for a recharge that she likes to dual wield (because she's awesome like that!). Gave her one, then had to remove basic items like a steel sword and hunters bow in order to fit the other. I'll see if the reset spell works and reloading a recent save if that doesn't.
Edit: Tried doing the reset spell and that made it even worse. Now she couldn't even fit one pound in. So I went back to a quick save and ran into the same problem. Took staves, gave back, and it was showing that she was close to max capacity. This is despite wearing a backpack and a bandolier that boosts her carry capacity by 125 (she was only carrying 99.05 pounds of stuff). Went back to a save file where I started playing a few hours ago and the problem seems to be gone. So I only lost a few hours. Any advice for if this comes back? She doesn't NEED to carry more stuff, I don't treat her like a pack mule, but it is kinda annoying.
Double edit: Just checked and NMM says I have version 1.4, not 1.4.1.1. But I also still have the esp from the "find out what happened to Vilja bug" thread. Will updating fix this, and is it ok to do so? Sorry if this is getting convoluted.
Triple edit: Found a fix, I believe. Console commanded her to "forceav carryweight 99999".

I think they should make it an option to have two Vilga's. I would love to have the twin problem.
And I fully understand not wanting to "delete" her. I find it hard to just to leave her behind at times.

Woah! You've got 8 pretties with you. I have no idea who all the others are, part from the Vilja twins and Cerwiden. I guess you're using a mod or two that adds more female followers. I got enough trouble to keep just three of them in check. Last time I took a break at Windstad Manor, Cerwiden got the idea she should walk around in nothing but her shoes and a pair of gauntlets - Must be Vilja's influence When we returned to adventuring she put the armour I gave her back on, though.

Wotan, From left to right; Lyla, Vilja (original), Misha, Cerwiden, Michelle, Vilja (clone), in the back left is Amanda then Lydia (the house carl given to me by the Jarl of Whiterun). The other four women were from one mod only. I use enhanced graphics and ultimate followers mods for better dialogue and interaction and scenery quality. I have a 5 year old computer with Vista (stinks!) and 8 gigs of ram but I have never had any problems since I added the other four with lagging or ctd's. Of course the best dialogues are between one Vilja and Lydia, some good ones between Cerwiden as well. The others are enhanced and good to talk to also. I haven't had the other four for that long but they travel, interact and fight together well (what more could I ask for! :-) ). In fact, they fight together excellently! When I first downloaded and installed them, I went out on a test hike during which, we passed by a bandit holdout in an abandoned fort. The bandit guard make the mistake of shooting an arrow at me ;D. Well the lasses charged and by the time I got to the gate, they had slaughtered everyone inside! (so proud ). I am constantly surprised by what they do. Thank you for your interest! Graykin

Wotan, It's beginning to look like I bit off a little more than I can chew! While I've been able to manage (herd ) the entire team (of 8) on general walkabouts and such, this DOES NOT work for any quest at all ! In fact it's chaos on all fronts ! So I'm having to leave at least 4 of them at the base camp or home to get through the different quest stages. Of course the Vilja twins go and then either Cerwiden or Lydia or maybe both of them depending. I also have noticed a big difference in Vilja's dialogue (mainly with the original) since the 1.5 version! A lot more conversation with everyone! Thank you Emma ! I love it! Graykin

Request: Using the character change command prompt, please change your playing character to Vilja and play as Vilja. Then start a new thread called "Tripple Trouble" (I know in Oblivion you could play as Vilja but I am unsure if you can do that in Skyrim?)
