Unless there's a mod you need to have at the beginning of your game, I can't see that you need to re-start your game. Just do a full backup of the Skyrim folder along with a couple of saved games so you have a fall-back position, and start adding in the mods you want one by one.  |

I actually just did that. Completely uninstalled everything to get myself a clean vanilla save at the beginning to avoid the trouble next time. I think I'm going to do that when Vilja version 3 is released. I've hit a couple of issues in Solstheim, though they aren't related to Vilja. I think they are vanilla game bugs. If I go back to an earlier save they just repeat. However, I have a good list of what mods I want to take forward and a complete purge of everything else will probably be a good idea. In the meantime, I'll use the interval before version 3 to do some more testing and also to make sure I have gathered into a folder all the installation files I need. |

What issues did you have Seyheb, I pretty much finished everything in Solstheim....I think anyhow...like to know if I saw any of the same issues.

The main ones are: First, I can't float up in Tel Mythrin to meet Neloth, which pretty well breaks the main quest there. Nor have I been successful in teleporting to Neloth or bringing him to me via the console. Second, completing the ancient pickaxe quest breaks my ability to mine ore. |

Nor have I been successful in teleporting to Neloth or bringing him to me via the console. Second, completing the ancient pickaxe quest breaks my ability to mine ore. That's weird, I didn't have any of those problems. I did finish Solstheim fairly early, as soon as I was able to get up there, as I wanted that Miraak dude dead after he stole a dragon soul from me. What about turning off Clipping and just fly up there, then turn it back on and talk to Neloth? That might work! As far as the ancient pickaxe...have you tried to finish it by consoling to the finish? Sucks to have to do that, but might get it finished without breaking it...*shrug* |

As for the ancient pickaxe, I've let that one go through for now as I found a mod that lets me mine ore using magic and in view of my re-start plan it doesn't matter a lot. I still plan to do a wipe and re-start when Vilja 3 is released though. After three playthroughs without doing that and having installed and removed many mods in that time, despite all my routine precautions I imagine my saves are carrying quite a lot of accumulated garbage by now, even though my game appears stable. At least I've tested many mods in that time and what I will be re-installing I will have confidence in. It will be a much slimmed-down list too. One thing that has come out of all my experimenting and testing is how stable the Vilja mod has proved to be. |

Such would be highly appreciated as I want to do the same thing, I'll put off doing a new game start until Vilja 3 is released and start fresh. I know you have tested a lot more mods than myself, I'd like to compare what your planning on using, with what I have currently and see what I'd like to use from the 2 lists and kick the ones I don't.
