hmm, I can't tell which parts are camo clothing and which are skin with tatoos?
Looks that way in the screenshot but when moving around you can see that the camo on the arms and legs is cloth. I got a flat camo texture and a cloth texture that was both used. The cloth made the normal map so it works correct then I put two layers of the camo on it, first layer I did an overlay and second I did color then flattened all layers and messed with the brightness to get it to the same as the original flat camo texture. So if you get close you can see that it looks just like cloth and the normal map gives it a cloth like roughness. For the boots and torso I used the same camo texture and made a new layer and painted that the same color as part of the camo. Then used the opacity slider on it so the camo barely texture shows but its not the same as the arms and legs. It needed an almost solid texture because the UVW map on the sides of the torso is poorly done and it stretches the texture. I then used a much simpler texture for the normal map so it looks somewhat smooth. I am trying to learn Photoshop more than my meager knowledge and trying things out and that's the result of experimenting.
I would've fixed the normal map on the torso but for some reason I cannot get Fallout clothing and armor Meshes from 3DS Max to the game without vertices going everywhere but where they are supposed to be.
*edit As for the armor choice to experiment on? Well I like female butt's and the person that invented yoga pants deserves a medal lol. I admit it, the butt had an affect on my choice of armor to mess with textures for.

Fallout and Fallout New Vegas is missing one very important enemy that all RPG games must have or it isn't a proper RPG.
I am going to make a mod that adds them to both wastelands, just finished the model and race for FNV, need to give it factions so it will attack on sight and level list for a variety of weapons the place them all over the place... Yup instead of just feral ghouls or radroaches you might be shot at by a skeleton!
Love it! Might I suggest some skeletons in non enemy factions? Just wandering the wastelands, sometimes heavily armed, but often harmless and sometimes even helpful. I wish you would adjust the brightness!
Some certain modder just got very fed up with Fallout 3. She could not make a shotgun with a limited range. Adjusted it for over an hour. Any suggestions?
It's weird funny to start the game and load one of her test games. Most have a furious supermutant various distances away about to kill you. A new way to play the game. Trade save games around and call it 'Let's see if you can get out of this mess!'. Without her mod loaded you usually find yourself armed with a peashooter or a decent gun but almost no ammo. With her mod loaded you better be an awful good player as her character inventory is around 7 tons.
What is that behind her? I am guessing that the background is not from the unmodded game. It makes me think of something I saw a while ago involving fractals, greebles and dodecahedrons.
sorry, I didn't see your post blocky, umm ya... it actually is an 9 year old fractal created by the head designer of google glass and microsoft kinect. At the time this wass ground breaking visuals created with Nvidia hardware that was not released yet. He was working on some projects for Nvidea and this was one of the results. The original picture is so big that it could fit on a 40 inch television screeen. The detail is amazing.
In her never ending quest to replenish her ammunition as she methodically turns the entire wasteland upside down for Nuka-Cola Quantums, our beloved Ms. Tirebiter finds herself in need... of going down... taking down the Talon Company headquarters. After the utmost careful preparation she undertakes the harrowing quest, periodically dispatching any who would stand in her way as she snarls 'Don't even think about getting between me and my quant-doms!'. No mercy shall be shown to any who oppose my glow in the dark deviled easter egg hunt!
Too tender-hearted to be mean to Fawkes I see. I bet he gets a few pellets in his back from time to time:) I hope poor LeRoy was not killed before you were asked by Hannibal to clear the Lincoln Memorial of slavers. (Head of State is one of the more buggy quests)
Fawkes is a sweety, or could be. He could have loads of dialogue. I mean LOADS! Ala Vilja in a mutant way: "OH! Smell the flowers! I'll try that next time. They were tasty though."
I'm not sure when Leroy met his demise there. Spunky thought I should use that pic. She pulled off some ultra difficult kerzaps. I think she cleared the Lincoln with something like 6 shotgun shots, Leroy being the final trophy kill.
You see, Ploppy and I don't play the games in anything resembling a normal way anymore. We sort of evolved. She is buried in school work and has limited time. I play an hour or two every day but instead of going over the same old quests I just roam and do quests as chance allows. When I encounter a very challenging situation, or a potential art - photo-op scene I make a console save for her.
For example, yesterday with Sydney and Dog in tow I encountered two Super mutants and two raiders and just around the corner, four more raiders in a fortified area with heavy weapons. We got killed a few times and barely managed to pull it off so I reverted and made a special save for her. First challenge, keeping Dog and Sydney from setting off the alarm. Second challenge, using limited equipment. Third challenge, using as little ammunition as possible. Fourth challenge, nobody but the PC gets hurt and the PC only heals on a bed so she doesn't use medical gear.
So she fiddles and reloads and fiddles and reloads. Gets ambush #1 to attack each other then mops up. Not good enough. Decided only the .308. Reload, reload. Trigger the ambush and finish off the survivors with 2 head shots. Acceptable.
Next the fortified area. Sneak in without the followers setting off alarms. Set a mine. Get back in just the right position. Mine injures 1, 4 head shots take them all. Not good enough. A few reloads. One head shot takes out 2. 1 mine, 5 .308s taking out 8 enemies. Acceptable. (We have very limited ammo) That's her game play for the day, maybe week. 1 hour of perfecting perfection.
Or the artsy. Many are XXX and we can't post. But some come out very nice. You want a teddy bear with those shotgun shells?
