I won't ever play Elder Scrolls online, First, NO Vilja ( that's reason enough )! Secondly, I've played a ton of MMO's over the years and they ALL suffer to one degree or another the same issue. Nothing you ever do has any consequence, zero, zip, nada to the game world around you. There is never any type of true accomplishment...collect this, kill that mob, craft that...and tomorrow ( truthfully immediately except for spawn rates ), the game is right back where it was, before you did anything. Thirdly, almost universally, they all have one end goal usually preceded by endless grind. End Game, with raid zones and epic loot, that you obtained, in the universal hope of not only looking just like that other cool character, that looks just like you, but having such gear, so you CAN participate in said raids, just so you can look cool...like that other guy that just ran by...*facepalm* No more MMO's for me, not until someone solves these issues and designs a game that isn't just a mindless time-sink and grind, but has some true game value, other than sucking my bank account dry, either by a montly sub, or a "store" to buy gear, just to be able to participate in the "end game raids", so as to look suspiciously just like that other guy that... Rant over... Nope...no MMO's give me a single player game I can mod the stuffing out of...and then...there is Vilja. Did I mention Vilja? Thought so....hahaha

I've never even tried MMOs, possibly for that reason. I remember years ago, while attending a military training course, a younger guy asked me if I wanted to go to the Internet cafe downtown to play Everquest (this was before high-speed internet became widespread). I asked him what exactly you were supposed to do in Everquest. From what he told me, you were supposed to gather with other on-line players and go slay something large and fierce. I never did go with him, as I couldn't see what the point of it was.
Ceri looks like she's saying, "Oh, was this your chair? Why no, I'm not going to give it back!"

Rant over... Nope...no MMO's give me a single player game I can mod the stuffing out of...and then...there is Vilja. Did I mention Vilja? Thought so....hahaha I can’t argue with any of that and “I agree absolutely” as someone would say. I used to play some MMOs, but I think the main reason I got involved with them was because of friends, but as I have said elsewhere, I got tired of their repetitive format and I don’t play them any more. I much prefer open games like the Elder Scrolls series. I just hope Beth don’t move away from continuing the development of the series because they think ESO is the way to go. I believe that would be a big mistake. Many developers have tried to produce “something different” but none have succeeded so far, and Beth needs to remember that it is the single-player series that created their success. Incidentally, I have a friend on the ESO Beta so I’ll be getting feedback. Then there’s someone you mentioned… Ah, yes, the delightful Vilja. She’s the reason why I’m here and why I’m still playing Skyrim. Like others I do appreciate very much the hard work and many hours put in by Emma and the team to create and continue to develop and support such an exceptional character and a mod of such high quality. All in their spare time too, over many hours and for free. That’s why I do get annoyed when I see some people criticise Emma’s voice; particularly when she said she thought about giving up at one time. (Though I believe it’s best to deal with the critics without anger, many just don’t seem to have stopped to think). I really do believe Emma’s voice, acting and singing couldn’t be bettered by anyone (all done incidentally without the benefit of a professional studio), and so does my wife. It helps very much to make Vilja the superb and unique character she is. I haven't enjoyed any mod in any game more than this one. Vilja is definitely essential to my continued enjoyment of Skyrim. My rant over now too, hehe.

Nice tree house. I don't think I've come across that one. Yep, it does look like you will have to sit on the floor or mod yourself an extra chair. P.S. just a small thing, but I've always liked the fact that if my character sits, Vilja will sit down in the nearest chair, even when I have others in tow. It is little features like that which add a lot to the immersion, such as when taking her to an inn for a night out or when at home.

Bethesda isnt making Eldar Scrolls Online, so there is a plus there. Realistcaly I dont think Bethesda could make a good MMO, way too many bugs get let through and never revisited to be fixed like getting Blood On the Ice to start. plus unigue named items use the same models and textures as generic ones, axe of whiterun is well... an axe you can forge at anytime. Thats just a start as there are hundreds of items that are named but are the exact same as another generic item. Take the bard colledge instruments you have to fetch, Same as any you might find in a dungeon with no name. an MMO without variety during leveling is a dead MMO.
As for never playing an MMO, sure play non subscription ones then once you hit endgame and the grind starts jump ship and find something new to play. it can still be fun to play for a while until you become a peppermill.

Ah, good news. I hadn't picked up on the fact that Bethesda wasn't making ESO. I'd still rather play something like Skyrim, even with bugs, than a MMO, particularly if there's the opportunity for the community to correct some of them, as has been done. All games have some bugs, and I don't run into many problems with Skyrim these days, though that is more thanks to the community than to Bethesda.

Home sweet home. At least there's room to sit five in this house. Just as well with those two in the background hanging around and guzzling all the food and wine.

Seyheb, here is the link to the tree house I am using www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38344/?I usually tend towards the smaller, less grand homes, for add on homes but not always. I saw Emma's house mod, after I already had about 30 hours into this current playthrough...I'll have to try it on my next game, as her Oblivion home across from the imperial city was fabulous. Nice pictures BTW, so what house is being show there, in those shots of yours?

Nice pictures BTW, so what house is being show there, in those shots of yours? Thanks for the comment and the link, falion1. That house is certainly something very different. I have Highview Cottage, but I had a problem there. I installed it just before the wedding. I took Vilja there for our wedding night, but when we went inside, she ran away and disappeared. I couldn’t find her anywhere around the house or outside, so not wanting to delay things, I loaded a saved game and took her to Breezehome instead. I didn’t report it at the time because I meant to go back there and check things out again but with one thing and another happening at the time I’m afraid I forgot. I still intend to go back again. The house in my screenshots is Shezrie's Breezehome Light Blue Version. It is one of only two mods I have from the Steam Workshop, the other one being the Become a Bard mod. I can’t create a direct link to it but if you go to the workshop and paste the title into the search box, it will bring it up. There are other colour schemes available in her workshop, together with some other house and inn mods. What I like about her work is the attention to the details and the lighting is better than most. Not seen in the pictures is a fairly large basement with all the usual crafting stations, more storage (there are small storage rooms on all floors) and a pool. The pool is one thing I think lets it down a little. The setting isn’t very exciting, plus it doesn’t have auto-undress so when you enter it, things can look very odd. I don’t use the forge at all as the forge outside in Whiterun is very convenient and in fact I’ve not visited the cellar for some time. If you have seen my early lute music videos starring Vilja that also use the Become a Bard mod, they were set in that house. My lighting there was a touch pale at that time, since corrected. You can find them on YouTube by searching under Brigantius. The experience helped with the making of my more recent Blacksmith song video that Emma very kindly linked to the Nexus site. They were good exercises in setting things up and creating the scenes (not at all easy with wilful women either – I have a lot of sympathy for movie directors now! ). However they did result in two of my friends deciding to join Skyrim and of course Vilja.
