Very nice work dogonporch. Thank-you. I'll ship Queeny up to the Cheydinhal region and show you what I did to those falls. Bethesda had all these tools to build fab waterfalls...but didn't use 'em...lol. Many Oblivion rivers/streams just end...not in our build...heh. If a waterfall could fit...I added them.

Wow that is so stunning. Those waterfalls are beautiful. There are a few there in the stock Oblivion. I just added more falls and a lot more trees/shrubs/rocks/ruins/etc. Then I go over the region being modded with the terrain palette...adding cattails, shadows under rocks and such. I fix any AI pathing problems at the same time. All the goodies to build such a thing exist in the stock Oblivion...but a surprising number of things (terrain types/trees/shrubs/etc) got limited or no use what-so-ever when they actually built the game. I have a feeling they thought they had wayyyyy more time to 'pimp-up' the scenery into something nicer...but then the deadline got moved... rush rush rush...done! Hitting the B key will display cell borders in the CS...I make sure to stay inside a cell or group of cells to limit any future conflicts. I pick a mod that already alters the general area and just add to it. This particular area of Oblivion is handled by this mod...which is a keeper. So the esp not only contains the original mod...but ALL additions I want to make to City Isle out as far as Cheydinhal/Morrowind...a very large area. But zero conflicts.

And that is exactly why I like this game so much. I know some folk moan about the generic nature of the landscapes, but there is no denying that the game world does look good and does invite exploration.

Change it... TES4 is my doodle board...pick an area...change it completely... On our map, there's not too much left unfinished...far southern Elsweyr and Valenwood...Skyrim to the north, perhaps. But even Skyrim has a few mods in it now...perhaps this winter I'll finish that. en.uesp.net/maps/obmap/obmap.shtml

Map of that area of waterfalls...6-8 trees....hah. Try hundreds of trees. Adding better forests are some of the easier modifications one can make to Oblivion...more undergrowth...different tree types, etc. You just have to be sure you don't plop a tree down on-top of a waypoint or block the connection between two waypoints...shrubs you can put anywhere...they just block line-of-sight. Adding more small rocks to an area will also spruce it up visually. Dead logs etc...also good. But same rule applies as trees...no waypoints blocked, etc. UL mods can do much of this for you, but we only use a couple of ULs these days...Great Forest and Colovian Highlands. UL mods tend to be rather cranky fps wise at times...so, I built our own. Then my wife can explore the regions I build...with Vilja, of course. Inseparable...those two.

Will we ever see a total Oblivion makeover from you on Nexus dogonporch?
You have a very good eye for building landscapes as I've already seen with your Blackmarsh and Hammerfell landscape mods.

Will we ever see a total Oblivion makeover from you on Nexus dogonporch? You have a very good eye for building landscapes as I've already seen with your Blackmarsh and Hammerfell landscape mods. Unlikely for a few reasons. Mainly too many 3rd party extras to be included that I don't own...lol. But certain parts that I can offer will be depending...on the usual things. Time, willpower...etc. When you set-out to upload a mod...even a simple project can snowball as you remember the dozens of OTHER mods needed to get what you have going replicated in another Oblivion. Mod requirements...giant list to follow...a big no-no. Each Oblivion is a bit different from the other....or a LOT different. So getting even a small mod published that works well will need to take the inherent differences into account. The bigger the mod...the more patches or different versions you need to make. Rule one, though: this is supposed to be FUN. Much like Emma...if it isn't fun anymore...I'm not gonna do it.

Yes definitely Rule No.1 This is supposed to be FUN.
Yes the more I think about the more I see how silly it was for me to ask the question.

Yes definitely Rule No.1 This is supposed to be FUN. Yes the more I think about the more I see how silly it was for me to ask the question. Not silly at all. There are numerous all-in-one type of overhauls that are very popular already. I'm better sticking to where no modder has gone before. For things like waterfall additions, it would be far better for me to act as CS instructor (if needed) and show you the ropes. Adding a player house somewhere is a good first mod...you need to learn several things to get it built that transfer to other areas of the CS. Opening a house mod like one of Emma's can give you a good idea of the work put into very detailed houses. With any mod that alters the physical Oblivion world...go there in the game and survey the region with all your mods active. See what's there re: conflicts...take screenies if you're working in a tight area among other mods...etc. Are you using Land Magic yet? That sure fixes MORE than a few problems.

Yes definitely Rule No.1 This is supposed to be FUN. Rule Two: Every square inch of the main Oblivion map has already been modded. Adding anything will affect something somewhere and someone will complain.
