Since I had my char move into Riverside Lodge together with Vilja, she keeps asking to go outside to find a place to wander around. This happens very often, sometimes repeating more than once, so there is hardly any chance to access any other topic. Is this a part of a sidequest and if so, what should I do? Any help appreciated!
BTW: At the same time, Vilja makes clear how much she likes this house, so it can´t be because of a special antipathy to the place.

Mewgull,
That's normal when you first assigned a home to Vilja. This is not a sidequest, she is just asking where she can go/hang out occasionally when you leave her sitting at home. She will keep nagging you until you set the place for her. You simply just have to lead her anywhere outside and tell her she can wander there. Then her dialogue topic should be back to normal.
It suppose to make her more real, instead of just sitting indoors all the time. (and eating like Lydia )

Thank you, Dovakhlon! So I guess I will give her the gazebo or the garden outside to enjoy the view and everything should be fine. You are right about Lydia: I wonder how she can keep in shape when she is inside and eating most of the time.

Lydia and Vilja were always complaining about being tired all the time so I left them at Breeze Home kjeller (nice mod). Ceri and I run several missions and get back at like 3am and no one is home! We find them down at the pub. They are not eating they are out parting all nite! All of Whiterun is dancing on the tables and I'm out working my butt off.

Sounds like good (realistic) AI rather than a bug? "I'm not tired any more," "Me neither, but I'm tired of waiting for Main Character to get back." "I'm borrrrrrrred." "Nuts to this. Let's go down to the pub." "Yes!"

Vilja will on her own as part of her AI go for a draft on occasion.

I figured it was the AI and am inspired by the wonderful work you all did. And who doesn't like a party.

Sounds like a great situation! Have to try it out sometimes. About the place outdoors: As Intended had my char lead Vilja to the pavillon outside, then I had him talk "About this place" and told her to stay there if she wanted to go outside. Perfect.

She also is capable of crafting things for you (Arrows, Lockpicks) and creating potions and will cook for you if you have a kitchen. More things too. But you will just need to see for yourself.

Yepp, she has offered to do this several times already but I had my char ignore it for the time being. I like to have him get out of the sack right early in the morning to go questing, coming back home only to sleep and to store away some loot. Apparently he is not doing too badly: Vilja has already remarked several times that he is the nicest Breton she has met so far.

Well...... Vilja would certainly never lie.......
Disclaimer, I have not played a Breton since Oblivion and she was indeed fond of me.

With a single exception (a gorgeous Redguard lady who went thru the main quest in Oblivion without sleeping once) and a few tries I only played slender male Bretons who specialized in sneaking, thievery, marksmanship and long distance destrution magic, feeling this suited me best. A sociologist once did some research into computer RPGs and noticed a player to be most successful when his virtual alter ego resembled his real life personality closely. For me this is no astonishing fact: I can easily make people believe think I´m irish.

"A sociologist once did some research into computer RPGs and noticed a player to be most successful when his virtual alter ego resembled his real life personality closely." I agree I have a difficult time playing a truly evil character. Chaotically good I believe is how D&D would classify it. I have been playing mostly Elven spellswords since my first character in the Elder Scrolls back in the day.

Yepp, I never could get around to tackle the Dark Brotherhood quests or playing as a vampyre in one of the TES games. I mean, hunting animals is alright in game as well as "cleaning" bandit caves, but there still is a decent legitimation for doing this. Quite some pople told me how thrilling the DB quests are in Oblivion. Still, I never could get down to killing old Rufio for the sake of entering the DB. Funny enough, when it comes to theater, I like to play really bad characters: Paradoxical? Yes, certainly.

Same here. I just find I don't feel like joining the Dark Brotherhood or playing as a vampire, particularly with Vilja along!
