No offense to fans of Irish Wolfhounds, but I think the dogs in Skyrim are kind of ugly, Leifur included, and I just think the Husky dogs from Dawnguard look a lot better. So I opened up Creation Kit and turned Leifur into a husky. He came out pretty good and everything seems to work fine. But then I noticed in dungeons, he becomes partially transparent. Guess I must have screwed up somewhere. I don't have any characters that can actually recruit a Dawnguard husky, do they all have this problem, or did I screw something up with Leifur's plastic surgery?

From amgepo, in a reply to another player wanting to change Leifur into a husky:

A pity, since I don't like editting files like that...

From amgepo, in a reply to another player wanting to change Leifur into a husky: Thanks, I'm not sure that's the problem though. I think I have gotten past the problem of editing AAEMNakedDogLeifurAA and AAEMNakedDogLeifurAB as I have both pointing to Biped Model of Actors\DLC01\ArmoredDog\Husky.nif. That's indeed what I had to change to make him show up as a Husky so it was mostly successful, with the only oddity being the partial transparency in dungeons.

gnatgosplatSo this only happens if in dungeons? See if this helps: Open console, click on Leifur, and enter SetActorAlpha 100 EDIT: Could it be that Leifur is equipping some sort of armor (arma) that you aren't aware of?

Leifur getting sometimes transparent in dungeons has nothing to do with the husky .nif file. It also happens with the regular Leifur model. It's because of Amgepo's scripting and it has something to do with sneaking and detection if I remember correctly. But why he actually set this up that way I don't know. That's a questiobn for Amgepo.

If Leifur is changed into a Husky, he should also eat Salmon meat...

If Leifur is changed into a Husky, he should also eat Salmon meat... If Leifur is a husky and has inherited any significant amount of his ancestral traits he should eat anything that doesn't eat him first, including other dogs. But back on the original track, yes, why? Why is there only the ultra ugly pseudo Irish Woofhound? And while we are not on the subject, will someone PLEASE make a mod that turns Barbas into a Chihuahua? Pretty please?

There is debate as to whether or not a Chihuahua is really a dog. The breed originated as an Aztec food animal, so there was no selection for the typical dog brain.
Barabas' accent is New York, so he should be some kind of pit bull. (Which would fit, being a dog owned by a Daedric Prince.)

All the more reason for Barbas to be a Chihuahua as he isn't really a dog either. Or, going by his habit of poking you off cliffs with his nose and his obnoxiousness, he is a cross between a Doberman and Noober.

Wolf hound fits for Barbas. Another breed that would fit well - Grand Danois.
