Just done a new install. sorted out the missing ini file. Changed it from skyrim_default ini to skyrim _ini. Installed SKSE v 1.07 via the NMM, unofficail patch, categorised favourites, one mod: Another life.
And when I start the game none of these are working except the mod. So I have the skyrim normal version. also tried to use the console on a additem which I know is correct and that isn't saved.
What is wrong with this. I'm getting frustrated now. Any suggestions welcomed please

Are you using the skse icon to start your shyrim? skse will not load if you are using the default skyrim/steam icon. when you start with skse... you should see a dos window pop open for less than a second... then skyrim will start to load. load your game... hit continue... once your game has loaded... hit the escape key... in the middle box at bottom-left corner should show your skse (rev) number. I do not install skse using the nexus mod manager. I use the .exe installer from the team. The exe installer in on the link I gave you from the other post. I'm not sure what you are trying to use player.additem for? [edit] here is the direct link to the exe installer for skse skse.silverlock.org/beta/skse_1_07_00_installer.exeI use the 1.7 alpha... it's fine

You probably should reinstall the script extender like Questinghood suggests. I do not trust the Nexus Mod Manager and always install everything manually. And you only neeed the script extender installed if you run any mod requiring it, else you'll likely crash to the desktop trying to run the game.

sigh... I know there isn't much love here for nmm. edit... categorized favorites needs skse to run.

Well thanks to all for the help! I installed SKSE manually as always done. But suddenly it all 'came on' except Caterogizized Favourites whisc is half 'on'
At this moment I'm looking at other 'Faves' mods. Usually in the past I manually installed most mods, never had all this trouble before.

I use the Nexus mod manager along with LOOT (mostly because I am using a few mods from Steam), and am pleased with the results.

I only use NMM to manually move files around in the load order if I need to, and nothing else. I don't trust it to install mods, I do that manually.
I use SKSE which I installed manually.

Thank You. I have it all working ok now, except for an error message:something to do with 'Categorized Favourites' 'error no 5. Odd as there doesn't seeem to be anything unusual at all. SkyUI is ok, And the 'Favourites seems to be, console works ok, So what the error is I'm at a loss to understand.

SkyUI is seeing that CFM is overwriting SKYUI's favorites menu and therefore throwing an error. Simply disable the checking in it's MCM menu ( under SkyUI advanced settings ) and your good to go!

Any advice please! rhyls Shouldn't you lead Esbern to Delphine in Riverwood? Just press "J" for journal and activate the quest "The Cornered Rat" and you can follow the quest marker on the map ("m"). Edit: Ooops, I thought you have found him already. Did you talk to the innkeeper of the Ragged Flagon?

Any advice please! rhyls You do know where ratway is, don't you? The entrance (to the tunnels I mean) is - I believe - in the Ragged Flagoon, directly past the area where all the NPCs are. In fact, directly in front of you when you enter the corridor leading to the Cistern.

And if it is the ratway itself you seek, then it is beneath the marketplace. Door is north of the orphanage.

Stand in front of the orphanage. Face north and a itty bitty east. Run. Fall down. Land. Walk east 2 feet. Turn left. The doorway ahead is the ratway.
Or do it my usual way, run across the esplanade, along the south bridge, make a hard turn right, fail to compensate for the lag, fall off landing, climb out of water onto walk way, turn in circles. Facing the stairs back up, turn around and not face them. Find doorway.
