I wanted to d?L Dawnguard but on searching, they all seem to be Torrent files. Is there a legal D/L place? Can't see it on Steam, only mods for it. Reason beoing I want to get a crossbow. Never understood why a Medeival game had all the armours, weapons etc except for the crossbow. rhyls

Thank You Colin over to Steam Now!! Well I've bought it. Are DLCs automically installed into the game as I can't see any 'install' button on my inventory at steam? How can I ell if it's installed?

Launch steam and click on Library then downloads to see if it is downloading, it will only download if steam is running.
Likewise if you go to Library you will see Skyrim. Right Click on Skyrim click properties, then click on DLC. It will show what's installed.

You may also have to activate it like you do with mods, make sure its ticked in your load order.

Only difference was it also said not installed. However it startede to install whlst I was looking at the page. So now it's downloaded. One more question where do I find Dawnguard. Thank You! And also to Wotan. Yes it is selected, I think now there must be a Dawnguard Unofficial Patch somewhere. So to you also thank you for the reminder, that's one thing we tend to forget. And I only D/L so I could have a crossbow. rhyls

Well, they will find you, when you are in a city and level 10 or above. But it's just a bit SE of Riften.

Again Thank You. I only hope the crossbows are worth this, when I find one, that is.

That won't be a problem, once you get to the castle they will give you one, they are also all over the place inside. There are also special bolts hidden in the castle.

You also make those bolts, but it requires a quest ( or 2 or 3 or 4) to do so.
Just saying!

Sad to say other than the main, I did none of the improvement quests. The crossbows were too clunky, underpowered and slow. I think I gave mine to Vilja, but she isn't the best shot.

I have to agree with Collin. I only used the crossbows for a short time before I went back to normal bows. I also gave one to Vilja but reverted that too. However, if you want to find more crossbows and bolts, take a look around upstairs.
