Okay. Same scene. Going to the inn to meet mother. Also have been assigned a bard duty there, Vilja singing duet with Karita.
1. First play through. Met mom, got quest to find Magda. Vilja did duet. Spoke to inn keeper, got paid, and picked up a radiant quest 'Some of the Jarl's men came by and ...'. Went outside, quest marker showed Serpents Butt, fast traveled there, raided the camp, cleaned out the dungeon and Maga was missing. Going out the back door I checked the journal and when I had it point to the Magda quest location it showed Robbers Gorge, the radiant quest given by the inn keeper. Reloaded to just entered the inn. 2. Talked to mom, Vilja did the duet. Got paid, went outside. Quest marker shower Serpents Butt. Fast traveled there, raided camp and dungeon. Magda present, quest completed properly. Reloaded to just entered the inn. 3.Talked to mom, went outside, quest pointer to Serpents Butt, raided, Magda present, quest completed. -NO bard performance. Reloaded to just entered inn. 4. Talked to mom, got quest, did duet. Got paid, got radiant quest, Redorans Retreat. Magda map pointer to Serpents Butt. Raided camp there, entered and went to where Magda was supposed to be. Magda was missing. Quest pointer for her pointed to Redorans Retreat.
Obviously, while the Magda quest is active it will mix up with a new radiant quest. Am now going to go check and see if Magda got shoved into Redorans Retreat.
Additional info. With the Magda quest working, while in Serpents Butt dungeon, Vilja began interacting with the PC while in sneak mode, using her normal random banter. My game's normal futz or the Magda quest has gorps. Unsure which.

Nice job testing, no she won't be in Redorans Retreat. Something caused Serpents Bluff to reset.

Okay, further. Nothing at Redoran's Retreat. Just normal radiant quest. Reloaded. Talked to mom. Vilja performed a duet. Innkeeper did not offer radiant quest 4 times then offered it. Dragons Bridge overlooky thing. Magda missing at Serpents Butt. Went to Overlook. Nothing twice then the game crashed, repeat 2 more times, nothing once, crash again.
My guess. Magda gets slated to appear at the radiant location. With her slated to appear there she can't be spawned or summoned. When the game tries to place her there it crashes.
It's pretty obvious taking a radiant quest while Find Magda is active is the cat in the toaster.
CORRECTION/ADDITION The innkeeper, Thoring, keeps mentioning he's preoccupied. Mind somewhere else. But he never gets beyond that. Like he has a quest he wants to start but never does. With all the other crashes that take place at the Windpeak Inn, maybe Thoring has a bug and is screwing things up? Can someone check and see if he has a quest or hung script?

Magda can only appear in one place. This save you are using. How large is it? Specifically.

That's on the large size Sniffles. Have you tried one of the save tools?

That's on the large size Sniffles. Have you tried one of the save tools? I use a save tool about once a month. That game was started September 2013 and Vilja had been restarted within the game 3 times, and we've reverted to earlier saves of the same game about 5 times. Without Vilja accompanying the PC it's around 14000 KB.

Gosh sniffles, I have a few really messed up saves that I keep because testing went off the deep end between removing mods, and bad decisions.
My largest is under 11 Meg. This could be the reason you walk in your home and things are all over the place. Have you experimented with reset Havok?

I'm sure that the longer you play the more things get accumulated.

Oh, sorry. Reset Havoc will take anything you moved and place it back to its default location. The game does it by default anyway if you wait long enough. But if you place things yourself in the space. The default ones will go BUMP. Then things will fly when you enter the cell.

You mean like the 170 tons of junk I've dug out of dungeons and sprayed about my homes and the landscape?

All that junk you have placed is also part of your save. If you are a serious packrat you will definitely have larger saves.

(Darkwater is pretty fat from word go). ~500 pieces building material. ~2,000 objects for smithing and enchanting. ~1,500 ingredients. ~500 potions scattered about. ~1,500 hunks of junk. ~1,000 pieces of armor and clothing scattered about. ~50 weapons. Is that a lot?
