So I was reading an article on the release of SSE and the author was pointing out the really high play time that Skyrim has, often over 100 hrs and even over 400 hrs. Ok I had Steam open at the time and I looked at my game time and wow he was way the heck off. He must only know noobs or FPS'ers who play Skyrim.
So devoted Vilja fans whats your total time in Skyrim.
Steam says I've got 2538 hrs
As a disclaimer I am disabled so have much time to be in Skyrim. In my defense I am addicted to mods and can rarely not just tweak the crap out of my PC, it's MO's fault, or play just on PC at a time. Thus I'm jumping all over the place and them corrupting the crap out of my install and having to start over. I believe that I've done that 5 times, once was a Win 7 reinstall due to other issues. I would say that the Elder Scrolls have been to me the equivalent of being in the Lord of the Rings which I read once a year for 15 yrs and still do. A good RPG is like a goodt book that your in and you are directing the story.

Interesting indeed! I have about the same amount of time in Skyrim over the last 3 1/2 years, since I started, leaping from Oblivion (and Morrowind and Daggerfall!) into it. It was only several months of play when my glitch occurred and that was all she wrote after that happened! I was sucked in (with no regrets!) and with several more unusual coincidences taking place regarding people in the same 2 dimensional reality, maybe better to express it as a similar karma unfolding or becoming more transparent in our lives in the same timeslip (current space/time continuum) it got weird. Maybe it's an expression of quantum physics? The player's awareness influences the physical mechanics of the game they're focused on and it behaves differently for them than someone else playing the same game? I've noticed that on multiple occasions. I'm still getting unexpected outcomes from the Twins. Several days ago just to see how she would react (if at all) I told the younger twin (the clone) that it was OK if she died (took her off essential status). She stood there staring at me and just keep raising her eyebrows (about 6 or 7 times) without saying a word, but the expression on her face I would have interpreted as shocked or hurt. I felt like a rat and quickly rescinded that statement and she relaxed and walked away. Hmm... Good thing I don't partake of any consciousness altering substances (except for my meds and pain killers)! I also have done exactly the same custom as you mentioned, and have read the LotR series (including the prequel the Sim.) at least 14 times and have the extended versions on video that are a yearly Summer event for me and my daughter. Just bought (finally! after 9 years) a new computer with windows 10 and successfully transferred the Twins to it! I guess that means they're actually living in the cloud? Hmm... p.s. I have only 2376 hours to date ! Also I usually read books by the bushels but agree with Zedsayid on a good rpg is like living in a book that you are writing as you walk through!

I have 559, not sure how they set up the tracking. I have done full removals as I have the Legendary disk. Perhaps when I went to Legendary it reset. I also don't really play the game, I run scenarios over and over.

550, don't know how accurate that is since I have the Steam Overlay turned off to improve performance.

3248 hrs.
In my defence at what could seem like obsessive playing, I'm constantly trying out new mods and tweaking things in TES5Edit.
Also, I'm in my 70's now, Skyrim, the whole Elder Scrolls series in fact, is a perfect way of keeping my mind active, especially as I gave up on TESO, I got fed up with spending more time downloading the almost constant updates/patches/nerfs etc. The devs tended to listen way too much to players screaming for nerfs to the character classes they didn't play, which resulted in all classes being nerfed............only problem with that is it nerfed them even if you didn't play PVP and only played SP, which meant that even the starting zones became pretty difficult unless you were skilled/very lucky.
I tend to spend a lot of game time just testing the tweaks I've made to Skyrim which gives a false impression of the time spent actually playing.

550, don't know how accurate that is since I have the Steam Overlay turned off to improve performance. Wait how do you do that? that might explain some load issues on cell changes for me. I think we all spend as much time working on our mods to get a stable game as well as test new mods that look promising. I've had to drop some I liked due to conflicts with other mods that I feel are not optional to my game play. I have learned to just delete saves and go back once I see a conflict or a save won't load properly. I'm a slow learner or lazy not sure but took a while to accept it was best policy.

I somehow accumulated 2935 hours, this time round. Doesn't time fly! I does demonstrate just how much depth there is in Skyrim. But how many of us have a young woman from Solstheim as our 1st choice of companion? How much does she bring to our game? Emma and team don't get the praise they deserve, I dont know of any other AI with the richness of Vilja.

Hmm, according to the steam-o-meter I'm currently at 2226 hrs on Skyrim over 2ยฝ years. Aprox 2150 of them with Vilja installed. I've tried a few playthroughs without her but after a few hours into the game the abstinence of not having her around gets to much, and I make a Speedrun back to the Bannered Mare to pick her up. ๐

And of course I agree totally with Rhyls above. Emma and her team should have total cred for making and maintaining Vilja and all that's attached to her.

My recollection it was was total but that might be inaccurate since many games are in a "beat it" and toss format. I know people who have been on WoW since it was released. I mean how many hours would that be? I'm guessing multiplayer games would be high on game time but single player games seem to be beat it and go home.

zedtsayid. Aye, I totally agree. I suppose there's a lot of Skyrim SP that only does one run, beat it and move on. While there's yet again some who want to explore every possible outcome, path, style and so forth. And then of course spice it up with mods, and try new angles. And then the question still stands, did that article author mean that the average playtime would land somewhere between 100-400 hours and we few dedicated are the ones with the higher playtime...? I'm rambling. / Slaintรซ me lads and lasses.๐
