Hello everyone. So, to change from the old to the new skyrim . Is it worth it? I dont like the looks of Mrissi as much in the new one. She seems to have lost that air of 'otherness' when I look at the new one. I'm just about to venture back into our 'real' world with Vilja and Co with all that entails. Are there any other nice new ones worthy of accommanying Vilja.

Well, I grabbed this one just for the voice type. She looks nice and Vilja likes to talk to her. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10349 SSE CAN look better at times than Oldrim. At other times, it can be very frustrating. Since it's free you may as well try it.

It's going to be your choice. More stable. Weak on ENBs. You have to patch SkyUI 2.2 to get a good interface. I use it. My photos of M'rissi were less otherly but that was because of the selections I made. Mirai runs better on SSE. The only thing I really miss from Classic Skyrim is Anna's NPCs. Fact is I am doing a install now to I can run Rigmor of Bruma.

Rigmor is great, but buggy. Hope you can google and use console setstage. Many are trial and error. Lots of missed markers and scenes not triggering. Otherwise I loved it, and her.

I have tried SSE. Perhaps it is more stable although I do not have any issues running Legendary either (using a combination of crash fixes and enboost). My Legendary installation certainly looks better and there are just too many mods I find contribute to my enjoyment of the game which require SKSE.

My first stop will be, of course at the Bannered Mare just to see if any young women need any help. Doubt it!! . Then over to Riverwood, see what's going on in the world. At the moment it's all Bees, for me. getting ready for the winter, they shut down a lot in October over here. Only 3 stings this year.

They do say if it isn't broken don't fix it.

They do say if it isn't broken don't fix it. And that's why I'm playing SEE. MO2 broke MO running Oldrim. It might have been caused by LOOT or Wrybash running in MO2, there are issues. Since it takes days to rebuild Oldrim and as we all know it never ran well on my machine, I just stayed with SSE. One key with SSE is load order. I really like how mine looks with a LOOT dictated order and then some hand movement. The stability is huge for me and I can live without a few things and companions till SKSE comes out. I do have to wonder how SKSE will effect current profiles.

While SKSE may eventually be available for SSE at this time it doesn't strike me as wise to use SSE thinking it will eventually be there. It may never be released for SSE. (Yes, Zedtsayid, I do know you didn't say SKSE will be released for SSE.) The big thing that a lack of SKSE appears to have held back are adult mods. Most everything else of import now runs on SSE. (There is also the fact that lots of people can't make the SSE CK compile huge mods like iNPC (currently on SSE in loose file form) or Anna's NPCs.)
Look wise I finally have SSE looking pretty good, i.e. to my taste using Dolomite Weather and SkyrimSE Re-Engaged ENB

True naramoore, I'm not counting on it (SKSE) being released as a decision to go with SSE. While I'm missing physics and am hoping that Cerwiden will be ported, I love the look I got with Re-engaged and Vivid Weather. Several followers actually fill the healer roles better than Cerwiden did but lack the quests and dialogue. All the forums favorite followers have been ported and offer a variety of experiences to under take. I will say any issues I have with SSE are in the mods not the core game like oldrim and are much easier to deal with.

I really like Vivid Weather on LE but didn't find that it translated to SSE well. I am liking the look the Dolomite Weathers gives me.

Gosh, sometimes you just need to stop for a moment and think to yourself, this is why you play Skyrim. Just for the quiet moments when you need to stop and look around and just take a picture because it can be so beautiful.
