eh?
the reason that she wants your protection is that she hasn't got any equipment. You'll find equipment for her in any shop in the country, like a bow and a sword and armor.
I haven't made the amulet myself, doesn't the readme tell you where to find it? Or maybe it has already been added to your inventory?

When you find Constance she only has standard clothes and a rusty dagger. It's up to you to find better equipment and also just do the quest which you get sooner or later from her. About that amulet: have you read the text when you have downloaded it? At the site you can read the following: So it's up to Ald'Ruhn for that amulet And for the equipment; well, next to the standard armors and clothes there are tons of shopping mods, like Clothiers of Vvardenfell, Hilgya the Seamstress, Metal Queen Boutique, Alakazar's Lamp, Kat's Kastle, etc. In my last game (before i cleaned my computer) i had Constance equipped with Meridian wine armor from Alakazar's lamp, some fishnet stockings from Bob's armory 1, pagan boots from Kat's Kastle, gloves from Clothiers of Vvardenfell and an amulet from Gothic Attire Complete. As for bows a little hint; you can get a daedric one if you find the lost Vassir-Didanat mine and tell Dram Bero about it's location. You have to find Bero though. But that's up to you to find that out. You also can give her some bows from Phijama, like from his themed bowset mod or those form Alakazar's lamp, which are also done by Phijama.

I've never had to use that amulet, there's such a plethora of arrows in the game that it seemed superfluous; there are hundreds of arrows stored in each of my homes, so Constance is never far from an armory.
My favorite armor for her is the "Dream Armor", light armor with respectable stats, somewhat expensive, but invisible, so it doesn't interfere with whatever clothing she wears (in my game usually a fur robe for Solstheim and a variety of gowns from different mods elsewhere).
I always thought Mr Bero something of a cheat, as he gives you access to the best non-enchanted weapons too early in the game (all you need do is pick a high level lock, and the cost of a lock splitter scroll is certainly worth the weapon). But Constance does quite well with the daedric bow, and its maintenance is a drain on a beginning players funds. I eventually edited Constance' special bow so it's slightly better than the daedric, now she'll switch to it once you acquire it for her.

I also have never installed that amulet mod, since there is indeed enough arrows. And you can obtain them back once you launched some. Not if you missed, but if hitted, then you can restore the arrows. As with Bero; since i play most of the time a magic character myself i already have Ondusi's Open Door and the locked door has a lock of 50 pts. When i arrive at his place i already have gained some levels. I don't go straight to Vivec at the start. And teaming up with Constance happens even later.

I prefer magic characters also (my current is a pure mage with no weapons or armor skills). I bumped the lock on Bero's door to 100, then tried creating a mod requiring the player to find three pieces of "deep mine ebony", hidden in the farther reaches of the mine, as proof the mine had been found. At least then you must fight a few daedra before reporting to Bero. But my scripting abilities are sorely lacking (my scripting abilities are non-existent), so I pretend.
