I have been running around morrowind with Laura looking beautiful at my side. We have had our lovely meal and spent the night enjoying each others company. Next we went to Caldera and all she did was complain about the number of guards, was anything supposed to happen there other than that? We have been to Balmora and she bought me a Helm, Lovely girl. Have been wandering around vivec but no new journal entries is there some specific place we need to go in vivec? Having great fun and want to progress on so any help appreciated.

Sorry got beyond that, had a problem with doubling and the original Laura with me started to get glitchy.
The new laura (11aa_laura00000001) was working fine until after the kidnap and rescue but now doesn't seem to want to progress the plot.
I know that there are still things to do like I seem to remember her getting drunk and having a spat in pelegiad last time I played her through but at the moment nothing is happening.
Last journal entry was her fathers belt, I think the next action point is balmora but I have been through there, stayed there and had endless conversations with her there since.
I am wondering if the doubling may have upset the plot progression and if so does anyone know the console commands to set the plot progress to where it is supposed to be?

Doubling, and using the "wrong" version of Laura, could well be causing quest problems. I don't remember a duplicate of Laura, but I know I had duplicate Laurennas once, and I think I had the same with Constance.
I don't think you need to worry about the "Pelagiad spat" - I think that's just an optional event, and don't recall it from my games. I though that the belt came as a reward at the end of the quest, but it's been a while since I played through Laura's quest.
Can you post the last journal entry for Laura - I'm sure Emma will be able to sort it out from that, and if she's not around I'll look into the CS and see what I can deduce from it.
A couple of points: 1) Have you tried to clean your savegame in Wrye Mash? 2) Do you have a savegame from before the doubling problem, in case that's the safest way to go?

Loriel, Thanks for your response.
I think the doubling event was probably due to load order change when I installed Kat's Castle.
I do not have Wrye Mash and do not know how to use it.
The current clone of laura works fine as far as conversation and animation is concerned. I have deleted the original (11aa_laura00000000) as she was not responding and am currently traveling with her clone (11aa_laura00000001).
The last Journal entry is, as I said, the one following her rescue when she gives you her father's belt and it mentions her working on her fathers papers.
Any save game from before the mod reorder would suffer the same problem wouldn't it?
I had a look in the CS but there are eight journal paths for laura and I couldn't work out what was needed to get the next journal entry.
So I decided to ask the experts.

You should never change load order on a companion NPC because it can lead to problems like what you're having. Also, Wrye Mash is an invaluable tool. You can get a stand alone version here. You may need to register to download the program, though.

Speaking of Laura, if blaydon doesn't mind me hi-jacking his thread as I don't want to make another "omg pls halp" thread, I noticed that her dancing animation doesn't seem to work right when better bodies is active. Or perhaps it does, I've never played without BB but she seems to bring her shoulders up to her ears and sort of belly dance funnily, never moving her arms if that's the way its intended then ignore this post, but if not is there anything I can do to fix it?

I think she's supposed to dance that way, from what I remember! Hey, she doesn't have to be GOOD at it to be worth watching! (especially if you give her something like Aleanne's Dancer Outfit to wear...

That's her default dancing animation, the body type doesn't interfere with it.

In order to make her use the kissing animation, this is the only dancing animation that is available - they are so to say in the same package. I'm not very fond of her dancing style, but, guess there aren't any options if you want to keep the kissing...

There is, Emma, but you have to split Laura's .kf file into the various .kf files (kissing, dancing, sleeping, etc.), change the dancing animation out, then recombine the kf file into the proper animation file. You can do it with LizTail's animation kit, but it's not very obvious how to do that. I did it with Jasmine to change her walk and add some animation files like the kissing one.

Oh, of course... things have happened that I'm not aware about, since I haven't done any mods for Morrowind (apart from a headpack) since COM back in 2008. Its interesting to know that such improvements are still coming forth.
