Got married to Vilja several times now, but I must confess- the story line gets awfully boring after that.
Each time, I quit the game a couple of game-weeks after the wedding. I know there's a new Wolfcry Armor coming up, but other than that... would anyone dare to reveal some spoilers? I've already completed all of the main quests of Skyrim, so- I'm the big hero, yada yada. Just wondering if there's any more to Vilja's story arc... before I quit again.

You have finished the Bards college quest I assume? There isn't much more to her quest line. Boring domestic bliss dead ahead. When I reached that point, adopted the kids, fixed up the house I installed additional followers and did their various quests. Vilja simply becomes a fixture facilitating other companions. At one time I had a total of 17 followers. So it's all about adding mods after that. Skyrim became very small, add ons became boring, and my most recent save was in 2018 when I moved on.
I recently reloaded M'rissi which went nowhere the first time then read the walkthrough. It had the warning "Skyrim engine tends to just skip some scripts, if there are too many script intensive mods, so this may happen randomly on some heavily modded games. It’s an engine flaw, nothing can be done with it." Oh great, a VERY VERY tenuous quest path that is exceedingly complex and virtually requires following the walkthrough verbatim plus scripted getting the PC butt kicked repeatedly by the Thalmor ..................... screw that mess.
Maybe others will have suggestions but my computer is too wusss to run most of the new stuff.

yep, Bard's college, Winterhold College, Forbidden legend, Killed the Dark brotherhood, gave Alduin his enema... etc etc. Went to Solsteim, killed the master vampire in Dawnguard, adopted 2 kids, built an estate, pranced around in Yngol's helmet, and then... Vilja asks me if I'm hungry. YAWN. Aside from playing music together, I'm thinking she probably should'a married Halvdan . (Oh, I never did find out what happened to him after I killed him at the wedding.) -Slash

Ah, well something did happen to him... But you needed to talk to the people at the reception to find out.. He wasn't dead... He probably wishes he was though... By the way... Something does happen about, oh lets say a week or so after the wedding.. Have you not done the Married Life quest? The family comes to visit... You can also do the Solstheim addon..

Yeah, Halvdan's story was never finished, was it? Also weren't there plans that the player would be visiting Vilja's home? Lokken Island, was it?

Yeah, Halvdan's story was never finished, was it? I finished Halvdan's story! When we were having our altercation a dragon showed up. So I mashed quick save and reloaded until the fates were kind. A small oversight on Emma's part, our honeymoon pillow talk where I needed to explain to Vilja his justly deserved demise. "Uhh, darling. He's dragon poop now."

"Skyrim became very small"
Lol, the trend in the TES series - Morrowind-Oblivion-Skyrim. Better and better graphics, sounds, animations ...less and less to do.
I keep hoping "Morroblivion" will be completed, but apparently it shall remain a WIP in perpetuity.

Ok, I guess I get the picture. From now on, I'll send her on her way after rescuing her from Brinehammer. It was kinda interesting... her plaintive tone of voice totally changed with her final statement. "OK, I got stuff to do. Been real, been fun, but it ain't been real fun. C'Ya.!" (Loosely misquoted.) Poof. Back to being a single-parent with a nanny housecarl. At least Sofia seems to like to cook... I won't go hungry

IMHO, the ultimate Skyrim update - improvement would be locking Emma and Smartbluecat (Inigo's author) in a recording studio together for a couple of months for them to collaborate a revision of both characters. No spoiler at all as it slowly dawns on Vilja that Inigo is 3 1/2 bubbles out of plumb and several dozen bricks shy of a load and the PC should hire a competent qualified psychologist. Maybe the bottle quest will get sidelined as Vilja becomes a wee bit desperate to find appropriate sedatives and interesting company to keep Inigo from going completely round the bleedin poipe.

Vilja returns from one of her shopping trips followed by a couple of stalwarts bearing a very large package. She moves the Dragonborn aside for a private chat and explains this is only her interim solution while she works on a more permanent resolve. She has her parcel unwrapped which is revealed to be a gigantic butterfly net....... "What I was thinking is you have that demented furball walk in front of the line as a scout. A good fifty paces ahead. Or more. Once you convince him he is about to become the hero of the ages this shouldn't be too difficult. Then we can contend with both problems at the same time with him waving this end all be all dragon catcher about as dis6traction we will have far less trouble during those periods of inclement raining dragons."
Dragonborn, scratching her head. "In one aspect I fully agree. Keeping you and him as far apart as possible will be a serious step in you errr...... " falling silent as Vilja scowls while fingering her 3 handed broadsword. After a short pause Dragonborn gently inquires, "Approximately, how many pints did you and Sophia put away at the Bannered Mare? Or more to the point, how many tables were left standing?" Dragonborn strolls off mumbling to herself "The bushes between here and Falkreath are all starting to turn yellow."
