Anyone know why Message Logger always give me this error? I don't have any female mods or anything else that would have anything else to do with this. I've searched her esp and can't find it. Thanks

I guess the file has become corrupted, either from something going wrong with installation or some other unforeseen event during gameplay. Fixing it might require a new installation. But one of the modders should be able to offer more help when they drop by.

Okay, thanks. I was thinking more like it doesn't exist. I don't know where it would be if not in the Meshes folder. It seems like the Vilja mod expects it to be there but I've never had the mod that adds it.

kf is an animation file, possibly corrupted now. Try loading an earlier save and see if it works (using Quicksave can cause odd problems). I believe there is a way to reinstall Vilja without losing progress.

Techy: Animations are generated by the game using whatever variables are assigned to them.
The sledgehammer approach. Save a game well away from the problematic add on or mod, in another cell. Untick the mod on the Launcher, start the game, accept the error, then immediately make a new save and quit the game. Then retick the mod and restart. The game will reload the mod base files. It will either run with the new files such as the animation variables, or crash and that save is trashed. This process can have no effect on the existing saved game data as long as the add on or mod is entirely inactive - in another cell entirely unrelated or unaffected by the add on or mod. All the game generated variables such as character development should still be present in the save.
And, NEVER use quick save. It only takes a snapshot of data, including dynamic activity which will always be corrupt. This can be easily tested by having dynamic activity going on around the PC as in an Inn. Make a full save and a quick save then reload each and compare the NPCs and how they are acting. Any changes between the full save and the quick save are corruption most commonly seen as interrupted scripts. Scripts such as a speaking starting over, or not starting at all. Leaving the cell and returning restarts scripts, but of course has no effect on saved games. This is the primary reason why quest lines fail. The game is waiting for a flag that will never get set. You can often bypass that failed flag by using the console command setstage which sets the previous flag.

Thanks for the good ideas. I should have been more complete on what I've already tried. I've been working on this for a couple years and I've been building some new computers from used but powerful parts for Oblivion so I have a half dozen working computers with Oblivion installed and they all do the same thing. I do transfer files from the old computers to the new so once I did a test with a new machine, new install, new character, not a single mod but Vilja and still see the error. I should repeat this test to make sure I'm not mistaken but I'm trying to quit building new computers. What would be the ultimate test I think would be if someone else tried MessageLogger. Somebody who already uses OBSE and doesn't mind doing a test. It's a handy plugin that enables error messages that were built into the game and then disabled for the public release version. It's tiny and you just put it into your plugin folder to install and remove it to uninstall (no screwing around with a mod manager). It's handy for other stuff too. When you get the message "This save relies on content that is no longer available" and you don't know what is missing, MessageLogger will tell you what is missing. It's no big deal though. Probably something not worth worrying about. I'm just wondering because occasionally I get some minor stuttering and I've noticed it's when Vilja is hung-up that seems to be causing it. Thanks MessageLogger: www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45870?tab=description

I'm going with what wotan said, you Vilja download got corrupted. I've never had Vilja stutter. No thanks to MessageLogger. Oblivion is a can of worms from word go.

If I'm not mistaken, Vilja has all her animations in the BSA file.
With BSA Commander, you can open the BSA and search for that particular animation. Extract it maintaining folder structure to you Oblivion data folder. Be sure to have Archive Invalidation turned on in the Mod Manager (I think that's where it is).
Now your game will have two choices if it's getting mixed-up (they do) where it gets the animation and might actually clear-up the issue. Give it a shot.

That's a good idea to check the bsa. There is one custom animation in there which is "characters\_male\idleanims\viljanim\animated_exhausted.kf" and it shows up in the Construction Set as it should unlike 0FemaleVariableWalk_Vilja.kf which is missing in the esp and the bsa. Maybe it was something they experimented with but it didn't get totally removed from the esp because of bugs in the CS. I tried my test again with a new character straight out of the sewer and nothing but Vilja installed. I don't see the error until I go to the Bloated Float and meet Vilja but then I see the same error. I've been thinking about a work-around and finally tried it. I have all the original Oblivion bsa files extracted and there is no SpecialAnims folder but there is in Shivering Isles and there are 4 that are for Sheogorath. I added loose folders for the path to the missing kf file and copied the original walkforward.kf in there and renamed it to 0FemaleVariableWalk_Vilja.kf. This got rid of the error from MessageLogger. Going back to the Bloated Float and meeting Vilja again for the first time is a real trip. It's a good reminder of what a great mod, with a great story, and great voice acting Vila is!
Thanks for all the input. Maybe I can finally put this to rest.

Okay...one more thing you can try.
Find a walking animation you like and rename it to that exact file name. Put it in the folder...
Test.
I think the exhausted animation is for when she gets sick.

I was thinking the standard walk is good but I should do like you say and maybe even see if I can find this sensual walk and try it to see what happens. To test her walk I walk backwards so I can watch and it looks fine except she skips a step about every 5 steps. I'm guessing this is how the game makes speeds match but who knows.
I was wondering about the exhaustion. I thought maybe it was part of the romance.

Yeah, lots to choose from.
Exhausted...one of the first things you do for Vilja is go get a specific cure disease (or poison?) after she samples a few bad things in the wilderness. She refuses to move and remains bent over (exhausted), so hopefully you're not 100 miles away from anything...give it to her upon return.

And that was the end of my interest in playing Oblivion. Vilja stuck and incurable at the Inn of Ill Omen. Memories are vague. IRL about a month of trying to find a cure, a replay - restart with my character barely a shadow of my previous playthrough with the slog dead ahead of getting her stats up from abysmal to barely surviving... Vilja forever stuck, the quests suck, take 20 mods and call us in the morning redo of the leveling system and my only real interest was West Weald and the beautiful plants that were completely deleted in Skyrim... bye bye my Oblivion days.

My wife is still really into Oblivion and has it modded-up pretty sweet. All the extra lands really help...including the old ones I made.
Both are designed to be Vilja friendly.
