Since I've been toying with the idea of also playing Oblivion now that I can get it for such low cost I was looking at possible mods and this question came to mind because its the first mod I downloaded, just in case I get the game going. I know Vilja means Willpower but I'm not sure how it is supposed to be pronounced! I guess the pronounciation can depend on the language, I can think of several ways: For the first syllable 'Vil' it could be similar to the French Ville or perhaps more of an E sound like Veal? My guess is it sounds like Ville but I could easily be wrong. And for the second syllable Ja it could be one of several ways: Vil`ya (my first guess) Vil`ha (my second guess) Vil`ja (my third guess) I'm not sure how the "ja" might be prounced but I'm assuming its a Swedish variation of some kind so maybe it is `ja with the J sound after all I've always thought of its as sounding like "Ville"+"Ya" but "Veal"+"Ha" has a distinctive European ring to it also Please enlighten me, or maybe you could even run a contest on this, see how knowledgeable people are of names

huahuauha, I mimic the way Emma says Vilja when you first meet her. She introduces herself "Hello there, I'm Vilja, are you by any change the person Melinda told me about?", I dunno if it's right, but I recruited her so much times that I'm starting to memorise her quotes too. I think it meets your first guess.
But when I downloaded the file in my first time, I was talking to my bro "Ah, I downloaded a new companion, it's [Vil'ja]" hahaha

Vil'ja is how it's supposed to be pronounced. As Marek says, when you first meet her, she'll tell you her name.

Oh cool, I was thinking about that today since in the documentation you mention the voice acting in the mod, so that would be the definitive pronounciation!
I particularly liked what I read about Vilja being able to help you with directions by guiding you to some important places. That sounds so cool!
Are there any other mods that might make a new life significantly better for a complete newbie to Oblivion? I'm always interested in smooth gameplay, but graphics are also important to some degree. First mod I ever got for Morrowind was better bodies because when I first ran the game I thought ... "How come all the people don't look nearly as good as in the screenshots I've seen?" So I figured that one out on my own.
Peace, Drake

So I finally opened up that Oblivion/Shivering Isles bundle I bought in the spring so now I've heard the name with my own two ears and it was exactly as I thought it would be. What's this? A quest? Well ... let's go check it out thenI always love it when I get to show off the incredible rendering capabilities of my Intel Mobile Graphics card, too, because I know it makes other people feel good about their computers ;D But seriously, despite my having a low end fx card this game really looks beautiful and runs smooth.

If you say these two words and say it for your self a couple of times. Then you replace the "W" with a "V" and remove one "l" in the first word, "ck" in the last word. This is the easiest explanation I could come up with to show you how it sounds when we in Sweden pronounce Vilja.
