Hi! I just installed the vilja companion + v301 patch. Firstly, i was amazed after reading the documentary, especially about the voice-acting (over 4k sound files WOW!) that someone actually did it and put so much work to it, kudos! Tho, i've got a little problem. When i talk to her and select 'Can i check your gear?' option, her inventory doesn't pop up. Instead, a skul appears floating in mid air, named 'Share'. Looks like it functions as a container, but that's it. If i want to give her some equipment, she doesn't equip it, the equipment and other stuff just stay in the skull container. And this skull just keeps floating at the same spot, for (ingame)hours. I was expecting an inventory with 2 bags and pijamas, but i think i did somethting wrong. I would really appreciate any help as i really want to play with this great mod. NOTES: - I use the high imperial version of vilja from customization pack v301 -I dont use any other companion mods, i only have Neeshka companion installed. -I have FCOM installed and use Vilja-OOO-FCOM-fix.esp, which i have properly integrated in bashed patch as instructed. -I have tried to use vilja combat spell to reset her AI, no luck. -Latest oblivion patch installed + unofficial patches + around 100 other .esp/.esm with no compatibility issues I can upload some screens if need be. ~Thanks for your time

If you are using the new Beta version Bash 292, downgrade to 291; newest bash is still a bit buggy and causes problems with several mods. One of them being Vilja, and the problem is exactly what you describe here.

A skull in mid air? That sounds creepy yet kind of cool. "Oh, you need strawberries? Hang on, let me search in my FLOATING SKULL OF DEATH and see if I've got any."

Hello again, Now that i have degraded wrye to 291, Vilja works fine . But, i am experiencing random CTDs, black screens, trees dissapearing.. weird stuff. Without crash prevention mod i would crash every 10-15min (takes around half an hour to crash). Question: Does Vilja work with new wrye bash 293? Just want to be sure before i do anything.

It's a OBSE pluggin that avoid some of the more common CTD, by avoiding the interruption being executed. alcari, if I were you I wouldn't update to 293 neither install or change any other mod while WEOPS reports a crash avoiding each few minutes. It's better to fix current unstability problems before making changes that could introduce more of them. I think you need to discharge CPU stress by performance optimizers like Oblivion stutter remover and quiet feet. You could also use one of FCOM esp files for less crowded encounters.

Well, i upgraded bash to 293 anyway and it works fine now . I have streamline and stutter removal, things like that and needed FCOM files. Saves in bash are purple again and im happy, thanks for help guys I have overclocked i7 and preformance is not that big of an issue anymore.

I noticed another little problem. I wanted Vilja to be a marksman, but she doesnt actually shoot arrows. In a battle, there are shooting animations and sounds but she is shooting air. After the battle she still has the same ammount of arrows in her inventory.

The not shooting arrows happens from time to time. As far as I have heard, no one has any idea why. Maybe it's just Oblivion's AI being odd. It hasn't happened to me (I know this because Vilja shoots my character!!!). This next bit might be completely wrong, but it seems to work for me ... Give her "better" (or more expensive?) arrows. I think that maybe she is a bit of a snob in the arrow department. Try silver or Dwarven to start with. If you have Shivering Isles, the Golden Saints & Dark Seducers sometimes leave them in just-slain enemies. I usually give her daedric as soon as I can. Yes, daedric stuff is expensive, but you only have to give her one arrow. Oh: one other thing: arrows that she shoots are regenerated in her inventory: she's an arrow factory.

The problem (that affects all NPCs) is related to (not necesarilly caused by) the marksman attack animation. Sadly while I do some serious testing on this bug, I know very little about animations and hadn't much time nor motivation latelly to learning on it. The important thing, is that this glitch happens depending on the armor, melee weapon, bow and arrow matching. Depending the combination you choose, you can avoid this completelly, suffer it constantly or something in between. I think the armor has less incidence than the other three factors, but melee weapon is at least as important (maybe more) as the bow and arrow selection.

I think the armor has less incidence than the other three factors, but melee weapon is at least as important (maybe more) as the bow and arrow selection. This makes sense. It explains why I've not had this problem, since I tend to give Vilja the best possible armor & weapons (within the limitations of what drops (based on my character level)) as soon as is possible.

Now that you mentioned it, i think she did shoot silver arrows (im lvl 12), but when i gave her stronger arrows from FCOM the buggy happened. I'll try with vanilla and see what happenes, thx
