Ah, well something did happen to him... But you needed to talk to the people at the reception to find out.. He wasn't dead... He probably wishes he was though... By the way... Something does happen about, oh lets say a week or so after the wedding.. Have you not done the Married Life quest? The family comes to visit... You can also do the Solstheim addon..

Wolf (aka Lycanthrops at NexusMods) on Sep 11, 2014 at 3:45pm: - I think we can get Vilja to sit on the player's lap already now. Of course there will be a lot of clipping due to the different chairs, but it could work. Just move an invisible chair on the player's lap when he is sitting, turn it 90° and most probable Vilja will automatically sit on the player's lap. You can read that post and more of the discussion/development of the lap sitting animation at emmates.proboards.com/thread/1298/animations-fnis
That was 5 YEARS ago.. Wow...
Edit...
That was about 6 months after Emma invited me to the team.. You cannot imagine how happy I was to be involved. I could seem to break her at a whim, and was constantly asking for solutions. Then being given access to her source code... Good God she is complicated in elegant ways. The things that Emma, Lycanthropes and Amgepo in no particular order can do ... No wonder she is breakable. But at the same time so extremely stable under 99% of installations... I will forever be grateful to learn so much of her inner workings.. To be part of it... The only thing I regret is Granskog... We were so very close.. With the Special Edition release it would have been perfect, we could have included all the DLC assets.. But that is a sad story.. Vilja will just have to be as she is. A very fond memory of intense collaboration and frantic adjustments. The team working literally 24 hours a day planet wide Scandinavia, to Germany to Spain, to Britain to America... Trading, moving code. Adjusting, uploading, downloading... Making a tiny change here and there. Minor tweaks, a clip of code, a tiny adjustment of colour. Testing and refining, trying to break her and only when we could not, moving to the next in a list... But it is done, as finished and as polished as she can be. We have all but said goodbye to her.. An immensely sad parting to a beloved companion. The perfect simulation of a very human and personal friend for many years.. From a silly girl that was joking with us in Oblivion to a very polished and human persona that traveled with us for weeks upon end in Skyrim. Always surprising, always most human in the best of ways. Complicated, assuring in her helpfulness, a steadfast friend.. No I cannot say goodbye. Because she will always be there.. In years to come when we wish her to be there we only have to go the the Bannered Mare once again... She will always be there for us.

We had serous trouble with it at first as anybody close by would leap in the players lap... Sometimes two at a time. It ended up looking like they were waiting for Santa... I cannot remember what was done to fix it. It was a long while back, I believe it was Lycanthropes that was working on it..

You have four options, stay back and use ranged weapons/use melee weapons and get in close, or avoid fighting/attack enemies that attack us. If you tell her to stay back she will tell you to be sure and give her arrows... If you tell her to avoid fighting she will not fight until you are attacked. Or if they attack her of course. Attack enemies that attack us will trigger as soon as the enemies see you. This is her default behavior.
You can use combinations, therefore if you only select use ranged weapons, she will automatically start shooting arrows as soon as the enemy sees you, unless you tell her to avoid fighting. Likewise in default she will charge them with a sword.
Her A.I. of course will always take over to defend you if you are attacked. So if you are hit by a ranged weapon, she is going to run in to defend you. I usually travel with two companions, so as soon as I am attacked I usually just back off and let them take care of it, and pick off stragglers with my bow. Vilja will usually keep a look out if you are sneaking and tell you about an enemy you may not be aware of without attacking them.. Uh oh, there's a Bandit, for example. This usually means that an enemy has partially detected you. She is letting you know that if you don't take them out, she will...
You can find all her options here.. lovkullen.net/Emma/Skyrim/ViljaDialogueChart.htm

More glitch chasing...
The Jist here is that you don't have to pay a Mercenary to follow Vilja.. Which is slightly peculiar. This wasn't figured out, so consider this an insider exploit..

More testing videos.. Not super interesting to watch, but it was something that took a lot of tinkering..
We strongly considered including lighting conditions to cure the ridiculous face light issues and shadows that caused Vilja to have terrible neck seams..

Hmmm. Jeremy Soule composed the theme.
Perhaps you meant to post this.

Would be kind of silly for Vilja not to say anything about being home, or commenting about Halvdans house or especially her parents house or Grandmas' house.. You might as well be taking her to Falskaar. You mean it was a landmass that had Vilja as a dependency?

Granskog is a landmass .. yet it needs Vilja dialog? Would be kind of silly for Vilja not to say anything about being home, or commenting about Halvdans house or especially her parents house or Grandmas' house.. You might as well be taking her to Falskaar.

The island was skinned, a few interiors needed to be tweaked. But there was no quests written. It was basically a blank slate. Lycanthropes designed the Island while talking to Emma.. He then had a graphic snag. After fighting it a little while, he needed to focus back on Vilja herself, then basically let it go for a long time. Then mentioned it in passing, I took a look at it and between Dova and I and Jet we fixed it. Jet added a mile of reskins to the items, updating and making unique items, Dova did some graphical tweaks, I pondered whether the Island was a bit small, as you basically couldn't walk anywhere without being attacked by Bears Wolves or Horkers. So more updating. But it was never really at the point where the Team decided okay lets do quests and dialogue.. We were just playing with it to see if we could make it work.
