Vilja's current Hedgehog has pretty much finished the game and everything seems to have gone smoothly except he has gotten none of the miscellaneous quests, such as recovering Vilja's lost necklace or her lost bow and none of the quests which begin with "I heard something interesting the other day" such as Arcadia's lost circlet, the countess necklace, Balimund's missing ring, and Zaria's missing book. Prior characters with the same load-out have gotten these quests long before now. I was wondering what could be blocking the onset of these quests, perhaps some dialogue topic I have missed.

I don't know... no-one has touched those quests with the upgrade to ver 4, so there is no reason why she shouldn't bring them up anymore. Have you altered any settings in where you can customize her? Like, telling her to talk a lot less, or telling her to never complain or something like that? Have you listened to her full background story? Have you changed the time settings in your game? Are you playing in vanilla Skyrim, or only in other worldspaces (Falskaar, Solstheim, Dawnguard etc)?

The only default settings I have changed relative to chatter is the one relating to requesting to be allowed to lead. She can chat as much and as often as she likes and is free to complain. With respect to behavioral changes I have asked her not to wander off to visit inns or to shop. Running ahead is not enabled. No time settings have been changed. The only DLC I have is Dragonborn. I am confident I have heard all of her background stories because for a long time now she says "not now, maybe later" when asked to tell about herself. She almost never says "wouldn't it be nice to talk a little just you and I" but when opening her dialogue she responds to repeated requests to "tell me your thoughts". I almost never go anywhere without her apart from killing Alduin or the Solstheim black book quests. We are not always dungeon crawling and we do a fair amount of role playing like dining out or performing together. (By the way she seems to get drunk more easily than I remember-one bottle of wine and she starts "hiccing".)

For what it is worth, my game had the same thing and I just cleaned out corrupted form lists. Vilja had almost completely quit talking and the romance quest appeared to be dead in the water. Cleared the corruption and it was like a dam had broken with Vilja blasting things forwards with comments every few seconds.

It still must be something local; i checked with our testers, and they get those quests alright in the ongoing games. Additionally, these quests haven't been changed in any way, i.e. they are exactly as in previous version of Vilja. Try casting the Vilja reset spell on her and see if that helps.

Thanks. I tried the chargia fix and also did some sparring and other miscellaneous noncombat activities and she has now asked me to help find her stolen bow.

Giving them to her doesn't work - she needs to recognize you have them. First, they need to be regular wolf pelts - ice/snow wolf pelts won't do. If you have the correct amount of the corrrect wolf pelts and Vilja still doesn't recognize them, try dropping the pelts on the ground and then picking them up again. That might help.

Hello Wotan Thank for the quick reply I have stood naked before Vilja, holding only the 10 stock game pelts. And still she only snickered. I do not have any mods that touch on wolf nor wolves. I have dropped them. Given them. What s odd is that she recognized the first five wolf pelts, and told me to hand them over. Short of starting over ? Have searched here and on the internet for solutions. I look forward to more replies Fritz

What wotan meant was that you have to hold on to the wolf pelts in your inventory, then Vilja should come up and talks to you and take them away. Don't put them into her inventory.
Try putting everything in your inventory away to a container, talk to Vilja several times (let the story manager gets out all the queued dialogues, just in case if something is stuck). Put the wolf pelts back into your inventory, and talk to her again.

Dova, sorry if I wasnt clear enough. I did try walking up to her with just the game pelts in my inventory... when that did not work i took off everything I had and reapproached her..
What I did not try was:
Try putting everything in your inventory away to a container, talk to Vilja several times (let the story manager gets out all the queued dialogues, just in case if something is stuck). Put the wolf pelts back into your inventory, and talk to her again. and will try that. Thank you

Can I still request a support? Seems like the forum's been quiet =). I was unable to finish a misc quest: find Balimund's stolen ring. I had already killed the bandits awhile ago before she brought up the quest. Now when I go to the quest location, Nilheim, I only see the arrow pointing to the ground with no ring in sight, whatsoever. No corpses of bandits either. (They've disintegrated? I don't know.) I can't seem to be able to finish the misc quest. P.S. Btw, thank you for the awesome (best) follower mod =D. I absolutely loves Vilja, and have posted my screenshots of her.

Ken, I don't have access to Skyrim/CK, so I don't have the codes for you. But here's what you can do: 1 - open console, type SQT this will show you your list of active quests and their targets, use pageup and pagedown on your keyboard to scroll the console, find Vilja's misc quest. I can't recall the quest name at the moment, it's likely begin with AAEM. Or you can post a screenshot, and we will verify its ID for you. 2 - take note of the quest target by this command prid (insert the id console gave you) 3 - transfer their inventory to you by removeallitems player This will work if the target has not been cleared by the game. If not, I am sure someone can look up the quest stages for you to advance it by console.

The Quest is AAEMRadBalimundRing
The Ring Itself is XX19C2E2 XX being Viljas place in your load order. Just go into console and click on her, it's the first two letters or numbers.. It's called of course Balimund's Ring Of Smithing.
Stage 10 is to return the ring.
Once the Ring is in your inventory it should automatically trigger stage 10.

I wish someone explained the how to as Lucidly as Collin did when I got the Nilheim shaft. Do as he suggested and if you ever get a Nilheim radiant quest again, revert to a save game and get a different quest location. Also very good idea to remember Dova's suggested trick for finding out which quest. I would even suggest doing setstage if nothing else works. With a Nilheim radiant quest stuck in your inventory the quest giver is also stuck with a pending script. Not good at all if it's Vilja. Nilheim is horribly buggy. I spent a week trying to untangle a radiant quest there. Wrote up a detailed blurb outlining the problem for the wiki which got deleted of course. If you use the console TCL command and go under the scenery you will find it was built on other scenery. Essentially, two Nilheims. Dropped objects there can go to the bottom of the cells and get removed by the game. Bandits there can reset to neutral and get the PC a bounty if you fight them. Horrible mess. Just use the console to terminate the quest and never go back there again!! PS You can get a full dose of the games weird physics gone wrong by using TCL and dropping objects on or under the landscape there. Sometimes they fall and stay there, sometimes they vanish, and on rare occasions they will fall up. Leaving the cell almost always removes them from the game.
